This is a handy little label printer that does work well. What doesn't work well is the software, especially the cell based software. Installing it is fairly easy but connecting to the printer can be a real issue. When you attempt to connect to the printer for the first time, it will offer a scan option to look for it and when pressed, it requires you allow it to scan for your location. If you say no, it will not search and just sits on the no printer found screen. You can press the search button all day but except for a click, it does nothing and will never ask to look for location again. The only way out is to remove and reinstall the entire program and then allow it to find your location to find the printer. And even after that, if it is not connected and you press the printer icon to connect, it once again requires a GPS location to connect. I see no reason for this other than an invasion of privacy.I was amazed to find that it can also be directly connected to a PC and in that case, the software works without the need for a GPS location. In Windows 10 (and 11), when connected to the PC with the included USB cable, the PC recognizes it as a printer and is ready to go. You can download the PC version of the software from MakeID and it actually works. Both the cell based and PC based software has a bit of a learning curve and they are different but once you get used to them, they are not horrible.The software has a few templates pre-installed for basic labels but others are available on-line but again, they make it more difficult than it needs to be. To get them, you need to log into their sight but even that is made more difficult than needed. You use your email as your login name but when your press next on the screen, nothing happens. You have to back out of the entry screen to bet to the next entry and this is where another issue exists. There is no fixed password to log in with. It requires an entry code that is different each time you log in. To get it, you need to press the get code button near the entry field and then go to your email to retrieve it. Switching between apps on your cell phone to get the 4 digit code and switch back to enter it can be a real pain, especially if your not used to doing that.The printer has the label film in cartridges and there are different a few different types and sizes making the printer useful for multiple things. The cartridges all have RFIS's so the printer knows what type of label material is in it. This makes it much easier to configure. The fact that you can use it wirelessly with your cell phone or wired with your PC is another positive factor, especially if you don't like typing on a cell phone screen but occasionally need to use it in places where you PC is not. If it wasn't for the poor design of the software, this would be as easy 4 or 5 stars.

Find it awkward and not self intuitive.

This label maker is an absolute lifesaver.I had one of the older styles that were handheld and you had to type directly on them and push all the buttons to get it just the way you want and it was very inconvenient.I love that this label maker comes with an app and I can print directly from the app on my phone! It connects via Bluetooth super easily, is functional and is a great design. It will be a breeze changing out the label tape once it runs out.

This is one of my favorite recent Amazon finds!!!!Pros:• super easy to use• battery lasts a long time• ample amount of available fonts (about a dozen, I’d say, and you don’t need more)• there’s also a few pages of symbols to use (ie, arrows, pictograms)• my favorite: you can print pics from your phone’s photo albums. This means you can design and upload your own graphic! This means, I was able to print stickers of my business logo!• 26 foot roll seems to be lasting a long time. I have made tons of labels, for everything (labeling my various remote controls, my equipment, my power banks, labeling my audio/video cables)• prints when it’s upright or on its side!• prints within the whole sticker so you don’t waste any sticker real estateCons:• none besides having to buy new rollsThis thing is really great. I can’t emphasize how much I enjoy this thing. From home use to professional use, this printer is super useful!!!I happily highly recommend this!!!!!!!

This label maker includes the label maker itself, a tape cartridge, a USB to USB-C cord, a power adapter, and instructions. I downloaded the “MakeID Pro” app to my iPhone 14 by scanning the provided QR code. I had no issues setting it up or connecting to the device.The label maker weighs 1 lb 4.5 oz and has four rubber feet on its large back surface. A printed label indicates where to open the cover, which allows access to the tape cartridge. The cartridge can be easily removed and reinstalled using just two fingers, and the cover closes with a satisfying snap. There is a large button with a scissor icon that cuts the tape efficiently. My previous label maker (over a decade old) wasted a lot of blank tape before and after printing, whereas this one cuts close to the printed message, minimizing waste. The tape backing has a slit down the center to assist with removal, though I still find it slightly difficult to peel off.The app is decent but could use some improvements. I primarily use it for basic labeling around the house and in my woodworking shop as I try to stay more organized. I appreciate that I don’t need to create an account to use the label maker and that there are no additional fees. The print quality is acceptable, though upon close inspection, some pixels appear slightly misaligned along the edges of the letters.There are no lanyard holes or belt clips on the label maker, so it seems designed to be placed on its back, resting on the rubber feet, during use.

Very easy to use and far more useful than the old style label printers. Great print quality in a small compact form factor. 10/10
