It's part of Makita's expanding 18V Lithium-Ion series, the world's largest cordless tool line-up powered by an 18V Lithium-Ion slide-style battery. Love this tool! Worth every penny. Just FYI since I didn’t realize this, it won’t cut over the ribs of ProPanel metal roofing. It is great for ripping metal to width etc, but I use the Makita Nibbler to make my length cuts. I’ve used a lot of different cutting methods and this combo is by far my favorite.

Easy to use for sure, it only got 4 out of 5 stars cause you have to use an allen key to rotate the head. Being a tin knocker, its all about speed and skills to show your apprentice who the boss is. The millwaukee one has a lever to rotate the head, makita has to unscrew a bolt completely then rotate then screw bolt back on. But its still better than the milwaukee ones I think.

Nice shears, a bit smaller than I imagined which is good as I was concerned by the pictures luckily it is nice and portable. Cuts only straight lines, no scribing, sort of possible to go over bends but not really designed to do that either. What is designed to do is make quick straight and clean cuts in sheet metal and that it does well. The metal strip created during cutting keeps the sheet metal from deforming on the edges.I Don't like that it says I have to lubricate the blades occasionly during use. Seems like mild 18 guage steel max should be no problem to cut.... not sure why the constant lubrication is recommended.Pretty good tool overall, definetly will speed up edge panel full length cuts for metal roof installers. If you have 25ft standing seam panels to cut full length you will be glad to have this. Also for this use case, check out the malco edge roller for bending up the long panel edges.
