I have the Malone microsport with retractable tongue, the tire mounted on the tongue makes it difficult to retract, but the tire is able to be mounted on the frame of the trailer without additional hardware.

This tire is round and rubber, just as one would expect. My one star review is for Amazon's return policy. This was sold as part of a package- a trailer, a tongue jack and a spare tire. The spare tire is not the same size as the tires on the trailer. As this is a SPARE tire I didn't notice this until I needed the spare. Now I have a 12 inch spare tire that Amazon will not allow me to return. Make an exception and I'll recant this review.

This is the spare tire to match the Malone MicroSport trailer.The galvanized coating is rough in many places, but the coating is rust proof but NOT so attractive.I'm sure I'll get many years of use out of this durable and well made product.But the finish is less than smooth and I was almost ready to return it and sink money into THREE alloy rims.The price is right and it is a utility trailer - I just wish Malone could clean up the galvanized finish.Did I mention that it's uneven and unattractive?

Everything arrived in good shape, and the wheel/tire is just fine - exactly as shown in the pictures. My only gripe is that the mounting bracket they include doesn't come with instructions, and if you aren't familiar with how they work, you probably have no hope whatsoever of getting it to work without seeing some pictures of it. SO, don't bother to try to figure it out by yourself - go online and see what it looks like - then installing is a breeze!

Excellent match with the trailer.A little pricey for what you get but it does work well.Would be nice if it came with a cover to protect from UV. Having a difficult time finding the proper size spare tire cover.

I was impressed with how thick the galvanizing was on the wheel of this spare tire. Since most of the wheel's life will be spent out of service, riding on the frame of my kayak trailer, I appreciate this attention to detail. I did buy a heavy-duty vinyl cover from Tire-covers.com that perfectly fit the 20 inch diameter of this wheel.
