I have owned a Mann Lake deluxe bee keepers suit for a few years. It is a great product. I ordered a new suit because my son is now working hives with me. The new version of the deluxe suit is not the same as the older version. Suit material is much thinner and zippers are no good. The suit comes with a zippered square veil but does not include the hat. Can’t use the veil with out a hat. I am returning the product. To make matters worse I now see I could have ordered the same suit directly from Mann Lake including , hat and gloves for much less money

Bee aware, this suit doesn't come with the helmet (hat). You have to have a large hat with a brim all the way around. Don't use a baseball hat like someone said they did, you will end up with bees in your suit. I have had the suit for a few years and have had no problems. The zippers work fine and the quality seemed to be fine. I am 6' tall and about 255 and the suit fits me fine. The bees can sting you through the suit, but that's any suit. I rarely get stung through the suit. You have to make sure the veil isn't resting on the back of your neck, because you will get stung there. I live in Florida and this suit is hot, but I don't know of a suit that wouldn't be. I don't trust the elastic on the pant legs so I tuck them inside my boots, but that's just me. The veil is a bit tricky to figure out how to get it on the suit, but just look at it for a minute and you will figure it out. I don't ever take it all the way off unless I am throwing it in the washer.

I should have read the description closer. It does NOT come with the helmet, so to me today it's USELESS, unless I wear my old veil. I blame myself, but I also blame the company for showing a misleading picture. When you're researching multiple items, sometimes you miss details...and sometimes companies DON'T point out that what you see isn't included.

The suit is shown with a hat, and even though it says in the description it is not included, my husband missed it and we ended up purchasing a hat separately for $20. Why this would not be included is beyond me. The suit fits my husband just fine, he is 6'5 220.

I love this suit. I agree with other posts that it would be nice if the helmet came with, or was an option to buy, but nonetheless, this is a great suit. This is my first year beekeeping and I feel very comfortable in it. I do not like things buzzing in my face and hair, and this makes me fell confident and safe. I think as I get more comfortable I will be able to wear only a veil, but for now and probably later when doing more with the hives, I think this works great. Good quality. I don't feel the need to sew the veil on. It works fine as is.One more thing. The sizing is for a male, I purchased the Small. I am female 5 ft 2 1/5 inches tall, weigh 130 and this works fine for me, a little big, but not too big at all.

I just got my new bee suit in the mail, and i love it! It is high quality and durable, and should last years. They definitely paid attention to detail, from the oversized zipper pulls on the veil to the thumb loops so you can put gloves on over your sleeves. The price is great, and free shipping doesn't hurt either. I hope Mann Lake starts offering more items for Amazon Prime!

I got this suit earlier in the week, and just tried it out an hour ago. When putting it on, the zipper seemed like cheap plastic, but I get it figured out. I question how long it will hold up, but that isn't an issue for me since I'm returning it.Using a baseball hat underneath the veil, I suited up and headed over to my hive. The bees were pretty angry, and started swarming over me despite some copious amounts of smoke. A cold front came through last night, so they may have been on edge.No worries I figured, I've got my fancy new suit on. So I continued smoking periodically, and started taking a look through my hive. Within about 5 minutes, I got stung just below my eye, which made me realize I had at least a half dozen angry bees trapped inside my veil. So, I ran away swatting at my face, and hoping I didn't get stung any more. I did.As I ran around stripping off the veil, I realized they had gotten into the suit too. I'm not exactly sure where, because I was wearing gloves and used the thumb loops to ensure the sleeves stayed all the way down.In conclusion, all this suit does is provide a false sense of security. Avoid it unless you like the experience of having angry bees trapped inches from your face.

I had to get rid of a bees nest in an awkward place - this did the trick to keep me safe (most likely) - but I did it at night, so the bees never got the chance to emerge. :)I figured - spend $100 on getting a pro out, or spend $70 on the suit and do it myself. Now I have a great halloween costume as well... if I can find a bee costume for my wife, we'd be set!!
