On a recent trip to Europe, I took a number of voltage converters to test out and review. This one was the best by far. It's great for packing because it is so compact and light. With it's 4 usb ports (2 squarish 3.0 ports and 2 C ports), I could plug in my phone charging pads. While It only has one outlet that converts the European 220v current down to 110V, I was able to plug in an extension cord to give myself more outlets for multiple devices. I also plugged a travel rapid water boiling pot directly into it, and this converter worked like a champ. It was the only compact and lightweight converter of all I brought that could handle the boiler with no problem. I'm very happy with this device.

This is a good adaptor. But be aware that it is not a voltage converter. So any appliance you plug into it will be at the voltage of the country you are in.For me, what's important in a power adapter are the type A USB ports. The more the better because we typically charge phones and watches. I do not use any type C USB so I wanted one with at least 2 type A USB, which this one has 4. My shaver, like most newer shavers, are universal voltage so it will work on any voltage as long as you have a plug adaptor. My wife's curling iron and hair drier will not work with this buy most converters probably would not have the wattage to work these appliances. This adaptor is better than the others I have looked at because they came with loose plug adapters. This unit has all the adapters integrated into the unit, you only need this unit and no loose pieces. This adapter I recommend. It meets by far most needs of travelers, in my opinion.

I got this as I live in the US but travel to the UK and other parts of Europe at least once a year. This adapter has made charging my devices a breeze and considerably cut back on the amount on plugs I’m needing to carry with me!

This device functions as both a voltage converter and a power plug adapter, which is important to understand. A simple plug adapter changes the physical plug shape to match foreign outlets but doesn't convert the voltage. High-quality adapters come with retractable plugs that allow you to choose the correct one by sliding a button. Thankfully, this voltage converter also offers retractable plugs for convenience.Unlike basic adapters, this converter steps down voltage from 220V to 110V, making it ideal for American appliances that only operate on 110V. It works for appliances in the 25W to 800W range, such as hair dryers and electric kettles. However, there's a significant list of devices that you can't use, such as hair straighteners, curling irons, electric toothbrushes, shavers, and irons. This exclusion is likely due to either their higher wattage requirements or the fact that this converter doesn't adjust frequency from 50Hz to 60Hz, which can affect devices with electric motors.Additionally, the converter offers two USB-A and two USB-C ports, eliminating the need to carry separate USB wall chargers. All you need is your USB cable, making it handy for charging multiple devices. One downside is the lack of surge protection, but the converter does have a built-in fuse to prevent damage if you accidentally exceed the 800W limit. So, is it practical? If you travel with 110V appliances that fall within the wattage range, this converter could be quite useful. However, I personally don’t travel with items like hairdryers or electric kettles, and the list of devices it doesn’t support is limiting. In my experience, most modern electronics—laptops, phones, tablets, and even rechargeable electric toothbrushes and shavers—already support either a voltage range of 110V-250V, or USB charging. For those devices, this voltage converter is unnecessary. In short, unless you’re specifically bringing 110V-only appliances, you can get by with a much simpler plug adapter that includes retractable plugs and built-in USB ports. Save your money unless you have a specific need for voltage conversion.

Provided ample power for a 2 month trip to Saudi Arabia. Easy to use. Integrated adapters mean nothing to loose. Ample 120v and USB ports. This is a great option for frequent travelers.

Some other reviewers have stated that it's bulky, but I compared it with some competing adapters I have and it's actually smaller and lighter than any of the others I own.The 4 sets of connecting prongs all lock in place, so they can be pushed in to a wall socket easily without collapsing.Sometimes these kinds of travel adapters can get loose and tip out of the outlets, or have the plugs fall out of the front. This one seems a little better than others I've seen, though I think it could still potentially happen on certain outlets.I like that the USB ports are all marked to indicate their power output. They might be a little hard to access if they face downwards depending how you connect to the outlet, but that's just part of the compact design.Assuming it doesn't die after some use, this is a great bargain and very useful adapter for international travel.
