My son wanted to upgrade his bench to a rack with pulleys and this is what I considered a beginner rack. It has a 220# rating on the slide and hooks. He started at just over 100# so this may be the only rack we need. The cheaper rack was too light weight. This one works with 6' bars. A standard 6' bar works by spacing the plates out on the sleeves to clear the posts. A 4.5 foot spacing matches what a 7' bar has. We use both a 6' olympic bar and a 6' standard bar for presses and squats but the standard bar fit better because the sleeves on the 6' olympic bar are fixed at 4' and hit the posts when racking. The slide accepts either 1" or 2" plates. I put a pair of 50# 1" plates on and then add small 2" plates on the plastic adapter sleeve. There is enough space on the slide to use 2" bumper plates but I prefer using the compact 1" plates at home.Shipping was on time and came in 2 boxes. Some fasteners were loose in the box but they were all there. It took about 3 hours from unpacking to being ready to use. Using a socket wrench makes it go together faster.I would recommend this as a good upgrade if you already have a bench, bar and plates. Also - there is no leg accessory included even though it is pictured in multiple places.

The only complaint I have is the instructions were very vague. If your not very savvy at putting things together, this will be a problem for you.The weight limit for the rack is just over 300lbs. I'm not a power lifter so it's perfect for me. Love the pull up and dip bars probably my favorite part. Pull down are great also. Very happy with the product.

Great cage system! Wasn’t too bad to put together but the directions could’ve been clearer

This home gym comes with everything but a bench, barbell, and weights. You still have to purchase those items separately but your still able to build some GAINS with this unit alone.Materials: The product weight is 137.5 pounds and made from alloy steel which is powder coated in black. The home gym ships in a two box set with a thousand parts for assembly. 😃 Follow the instruction manual and diagrams, and tighten screws and bolts when directed.Build: [Time: 2 to 3 hours] Please do your back a favor and have a family member and/or friend help you put this together. The bolts can be tighten down with a 5/8 socket wrench which will be much faster than using an adjustable wrench.Performance:Pull-ups bars. There are two separate bars which are bolted together but feel sturdy when doing both chin-ups and wide grip pull-ups. The bars hold my weight (200lbs) nicely but it definitely helps to perform the exercise using strict form without swaying.Cables. The pulley system feels more like a 1 to 1.5 weight ratio (than product description 1:1) in terms of resistance but a little WD40 or grease on the metal post should help.Metal knurl handles. The dip station supports my weight and feels nice, and sturdy (I'm 5'9 and 200lbs). I place the handle bars on the outside slotted posts but the bars can be placed within the inside depending on your preference. I experience more stability with the bars placed on the outside.Quality: The materials within this price range, have stood up under the recommended weight limits and practical use so far. However, the product will creak and sway; especially, if you do not have stored weights to offset the structure when doing lateral movements. Conclusion: I wanted a home gym primarily for doing pull-ups and dips. I was actually looking to purchase an outdoor pull-up and dip station but ended up buying this instead. I think this a great product worth buying; especially, if you want to workout from the privacy and comfort of your own home.

This rack is going to get the job done. I have had it about a year and a half now and used nearly every day. Nothing is broken or malfunctioning. It will do almost any exercise. The only thing I would say could be improved is the cable. Your only options are pulling from the top or bottom. Also, they say the weight on the cables is supposed to be 1:1 so equivalent to the weight on the bars but compared to the weight I lift at the gym it seems to be more like 2:1 so it’s gonna feel like about double what you put on there if it’s more than like 20 lbs. if they made an option for an adjustable pulley system to swap out on it, I would buy it.Also if you’re benching or squatting over 300 already then you’ll want to seek out a higher strength rack. This is more of a beginner/intermediate rack.I still maintain a five star rating for this rack based on what you pay and what you get.
