Reviewing this item based on the set up so far as I have not had an opportunity to dive with it (which will be explained momentarily). I will update the review further once I'm able to get a dive or two under my belt with it.As soon as the dive computer turned on, I notice a low battery symbol in the lower left of the unit. I followed the instruction to get to the system area to check the battery. It was reading "L 2" meaning the battery needed to be replaced before diving. I contacted the seller (eventually through Amazon). My first attempt was though the customer service number found here on the sellers page. I got a recording stating "the number was currently unavailable." I was able to contact a rep through their chat who gave me the same "800" number. I explained it wasn't working to which the replied they would try. Within seconds, I got a response it was and to try again....same thing...Eventually, I was provided with a customer service email, to which I also got no response. That lead to contacting though Amazon, which I should have done in the first place. The seller was less than helpful (or knowledgeable of the equipment - I was asked if it was an error if if the battery wasn't charging...this is not a rechargeable unit, the battery is replaceable), eventually instructing me to return the product for a refund and order another after I asked for a replacement battery and was told one wasn't available until sometime in September. The manufacturer (Mares) was more than helpful and understanding when I explained what happened and they are sending me a new battery. They also told me I could pick one up at the local hardware store and replace it myself. If i wasn't comfortable doing so, they provided me the names and locations of nearby dive shops that were dealers and would be able to do so.Now...on to my partial review. As I stated, the battery is "user replaceable". The first time removing the cover, it is a bit stiff. Care should be taken to not damage the battery cover. I used a US quarter, it seemed to fit well and with enough pressure, did not slip from the groove in the back. Replacement was easy, the old battery came out and the new one dropped right in. Resealing the back was just as easy.Once the battery was replaced, set up was very easy following the included instructions. Took only a few minutes to change from metric to standard units. Computer is ready to go once I get the opportunity to hit the water! As others have noted, be sure to order the cable to download dive info and update firmware (or have a dive buddy that has one and is willing to lend it out).*Update* Computer worked great during first dive. However, after installing the new battery, I never checked the date and time. Either I didn't set it before replacing the battery or it resets once the battery is replaced. Not sure which is the case. Otherwise, no problems with the computer. Easy to use and set up.

After the first dive trip the o-ring around the pressure gauge failed. Water got into the gauge and it corroded.

Except the gauge is in imperial not metric (my mistake), I love it.Why do I need seven more words?

I bought this computer a year ago. I am only a recreational diver. The computer is a little bit intimidating but it provides the information I need. I would recomend other recreatioanl divers to read the user manual that comes with the computer. I am sure that I dont get all the capability of this computer. The best part is that the computer starts the dive recording automatically and I dont have to think about it untill after the dive is over and I am recording the information in my dive log. The only negative is that you have to go a few feew down in the water for the computer to start (but I guess that is probably standard for most computers that operate on the preasure change).Over all the screen is easy to understand and clear to see.
