I used this to turn on a sump pump which was a ways back by the pond. Works like a charm, I don't have to worry about burning up my pump by running it dry.

Sump pump switches are critical to keep the boat from sinking. Once the water level is reduced enough, the float arm should drop back down to the "off" position to keep the pump from running continuously. But BOTH of the last two switches I bought got stuck in the upper "on" position. I burned out one of the pumps because of this. This switch is too critical, so spend the $40 - $50 to get a better one!
