I got this Power selector switch to allow me to use standard power from my house or a generator that I can plug in when needed for my campervan. Its not permanently installed yet so I have only tested it for basic use. Its easy to set up for the most part but I would have liked to have the connections on the back easier to make the connections. Screw down posts that are shared with the front lights makes it a little sloppy but overall it works fine. The aluminum plate looks nice and it comes with additional labels if needed but will not need those myself. It does the job of switching between 2 power sources so it just what I needed and looks nice overall. Having the little lights on the panel for power indication is nice although the reverse polarity LED seems to be somewhat useless since you make the connections once and your done so why the reverse polarity issue?

This switch can be used in multiple ways. It's basically an ON/OFF/ON switch with two inputs and two outputs per ON.This means that if you want to do what I'm planning on doing, which is switching between two power input sources for one output, you need to add jumpers between your outputs. The included diagram on the back of the switch is a little confusing, since the "LOAD" or output terminals (4/2 and 8/6) are the same ones with the "power available" and "reverse polarity" are connected to. This means that the little lights on the front wouldn't light up unless the switch was in their position. I plan to use these terminals as the inputs, which should correct that problem. Also, I wish there was a SOLAR sticker for one of the options.Otherwise, this seems like a decent little unit.

The panel appears well made out of aluminum. I had to cut it downs across the top and drill new holes to fit my location but overall satisfied with how it turned out. The screw terminals are 4mm metric screws. I wound up replacing 2 as the ones that came with it were too short to connect 2 ring terminals at one location. If you use this for 2 input and one output, you will have to jumper the two outputs together and move the Led wires to the input side so you know when that has power. Speaking of the LEDs: the 'reverse polarity' LEDs will never work the way they have them wired. First, they light the opposite side of the panel vs the circuit they are connected to. Second, it's AC! There technically isn't a reverse polarity (AC reverses polarity multiple times a second depending on your frequency where you are). So to make this work correctly for an AC circuit, you have to rewire it so that the black wire of the LED goes to the neutral of the side you are monitoring and the red wire goes to the ground. (Note: You 'can' technically get away with red to red and black to ground to reduce the rewiring impact since again there isn't a polarity.) By doing it this way, you will know if your neutral was ever 'hot' and get the polarity warning light if it was. But again, the polarity warning indicator is worthless as it came except to make you have a heart attack that your system is wired wrong if you didn't know better.
