Lid does not screw on smoothly. Wick is oversized for lid, creating very large flame, and leaks lamp oil if mason jar is tipped sideways. A fire hazard in my opinion. Strongly suggest not filling quart sized jar more than half full and place in oil and heat proof pan, such as a small pie pan. Poor value for the money.

I really like the vintage vibe this item provides. I popped it right onto a vintage mason jar. The jar holds much more oil than my hurricane lamps which i really like. However- I wish the company provided a way to order more replacement wicks? I have not been able to find them. I also suggest that you place a large glass chimney over the mason jar while burning this type of oil lamp just to be safe. The wick is very large and provides a serious flame. If I can find replacement wicks I will purchase another one or two of this product.

Love these mason jar lids. I have them screwed onto blue jars. The effect when lit is charming! Sturdy and very well made. I purchased the barn finish. They are of higher quality than I expected. Transforms a simple mason jar into an elegant oil lamp.
