Build quality from them is fantastic! Everything is perfectly machined and beautifully manufactured. The lift mechanism is smooth and the lock for the hand wheel works perfectly. I purchased this for use in my table saw wing so, I did not need the table. If you are planning to do the same, there are a few things you need to take into consideration. Firstly, there is no template available to determine the hole positions for mounting the system. I used a piece of clear plexiglass to view hole locations and make a template. This worked fine but you need to be sure that the two post columns are oriented perpendicular to the lift mechanism so that it doesn't interfere with the ring inserts. You also need to know that this does not come with the black metal ring that interfaces with the plastic inserts that are provided. I had to call the company to sort it out and they sent me one free of charge. The tech at the company was not aware that Amazon sells the lift separately from the table so this is probably the result of miscommunication. If you're purchasing it as a package, I'm sure everything is provided and you will be very happy. I just wanted to let those know that are intending to do their own custom install so that they are aware.

A fantastic lift mechanism and big flat surface. Can't say enough about it. Assembly was easy, holes lined up perfectly with the lift and the stand. The plastic dust shroud that comes for attachment below is pretty useless though. If you will be doing serious routing (which I would assume if you're spending this much), I recommend either buying the dust box or preparing to build one asap. Attached you can see what I built. Works amazingly, but I still will need to build a flexible intake shroud below the router to feed the motor clean air. With heavy routing the motor intake fills up with chips and will undoubtedly reduce the life expectancy. That's probably why JessEm made the new router motor and dust housing with fresh air hoses and ports, but I don't have another $600 to throw at this combination.

The pictures and product description would have you believe you’re getting a router lift table, but all you get is a flat table top with no hardware, no nothing. This is useless unless you already own the real excel 2 lift and want to swap the top off of it.

I bought the Table Top Only, though the word "Only" was added to the description after I bought it. So I'd like the Lift to go with it. Per CS and the current item title, this is the Lift Only. It seems grossly over priced. Current price for "Lift Only" is $848. This is $1 more than the current price for Lift and Table Top Bundle. From my perspective, that is the same as saying the Lift Only is not for sale, why would anyone pay more for just the lift than the lift and table together? (Note- I'm a little skeptical that this is actually Lift Only. Other reviewers indicate that they received the whole system.) Lift Only is what I need to go with my Table Top Only, but at a fair price.

I like everything about it . The original was designed around the Porter-Cable 7518, 3.25 HP router. The new lift will accept a variety of routers without the need for modifications. It's costly but in my opinion worth it.
