The bowl is handcrafted using the finest clay and skillfully hand painted with attention to detail.
Pour some about 170F hot water (approximately 1/4 cup) into the bowl.As you like,can slowly add more water,the more you add,the lighter the flavor.
please note that matcha bowls are not heat proof as matcha tea should be prepared with water no hotter than 170F and whisked to frothy foam before consuming. This allows tea to cool down and develop full taste.

the set arrived today. it is a nice set at a reasonable price.my second order, the first one arrived in pieces, since amazon simply put the box inside a thin paper envelope without any padding.the chawan is as described. not sure that it is hand-made, but for the price one cannot complain. it is large, a proper size for whisking matcha. some unscrupulous sellers on amazon, are selling cheap chinese tea bowls, which are designed for drinking tea, not whisking it. that is why they are much smaller than true matcha bowls. those tiny bowls are chinese factory-made in billions and can be found at very low prices. unfortunately, many enterprising sellers list them as authentic matcha bowls in attempt to sell them at much higher prices. be aware of those.previously, we bought a bowl from another amazon seller. the pictures looked exactly the same and the listing showed the same exact dimensions. unfortunately, that seller was dishonest. the bowl was much smaller than listed, way too heavy and no box was included. interestingly, the price was higher.this seller is honest, described the set correctly and sent the chawan in a beautiful gift box. luckily, the package arrived in one piece. i am very pleased and would gladly buy another one.
