I have been on the search for a matcha tea set and this one is amazing because it has a spout where you can pour the matcha to your cup mess free and the size of all the pieces of the set are perfect!💚

I have mixed opinions about this set because the 5 pieces you actually need to make matcha seem very good (with one exception), while one of the two pieces you don't need doesn't even work… First, everything was packaged in a very padded, sturdy box with a 2 year warranty and instructions to make matcha printed on the box. The box print only shows 4 of the 7 items that are actually included, which made me wonder how the warranty could be claimed for the items not listed (foreshadowing).You really only need the bowl, bamboo whisk, whisk holder, scoop, and strainer. The electric whisk and tea towel are not needed. I watched several videos online about how to make matcha and noticed they all said to soak the bamboo whisk in warm water for 1-2 minutes to allow it to expand before use, but the instructions on this box do not say anything about prepping the whisk. I soaked my whisk first anyway. Despite this, I still ended up with a bamboo splinter in my chawan bowl after making my first matcha (see used bowl photo). There were more splinters in the plastic case it came in, so it seems like every whisk probably comes with splinters. I then rinsed my whisk under running water and didn't get more splinters on my second use. I think this issue could be easily prevented if they just add instructions to rinse the bamboo whisk under running water, THEN soak it in warm water for 1-2 min. It's also missing instructions for what kind of batteries the electric whisk needs (2 AA).Everything else about these 5 pieces seemed nice and made smooth matcha that looked like what I saw in the videos. I really like how the grooves in the bowl kind of cradle your fingers when you cup the sides. I am happy with these 5 pieces now that my whisk is properly prepped. As for the other two items…The towel is a cute sage green color made of microfiber with a waffle texture and a corner loop to hang it. I say it is not needed because you surely already own kitchen towels and don't want to dirty an unnecessary item. I discovered placing the bowl on a towel helps it not budge while you're whisking, but their product video doesn't show their towel being used that way. You could also just hold the bowl with your spare hand.The electric whisk is not the traditional way to make matcha, but I couldn't even try it out because its battery compartment is literally not big enough to hold the batteries! If you try to force the batteries into the position they need to be in to contact the diodes, the plastic case flexes and expands, so the battery lid won't snap back on! If you leave the lid off, you can finagle the batteries with your fingers to contact the diodes so you can press the button to get the whisk moving, but that's obviously not how you're supposed to use it. Thankfully, I wasn't planning to use the electric whisk anyway! The electric whisk and towel are 2 of the 3 items that aren't pictured on the box, so they should just sell it without these 2 unnecessary items and lower the price accordingly. But I am very happy with the rest, now that my whisk is free of splinters.

This set is quite nice and has everything you need to make a good batch of Matcha tea. The only thing I found that I would suggest is to add a higher quality whisk or leave it out altogether. I tried to pull the battery cover off the back and no matter what I tried, it would not come off. The whisk does not match the quality of the rest of the set. I love it, though and can always purchase an electronic milk frother if I ever wanted one. The idea of the set anyway is to use the Bamboo Whisk. The set is worth the cost, but again, I would leave the frother out or add one that matches the quality.

This is a gorgeous matcha tea set—well-packaged, beautifully presented, and perfect if you’re trying to cut back on coffee and want a cozy alternative. I made myself a cup at work and really enjoyed the process. The tools feel high-quality and it includes everything you need to get started… except written instructions. There are helpful visuals on the back of the box, but you’ll want to jot them down or look them up later if you plan to toss the box.One note: you’ll need to have measuring tools on hand. I didn’t have a measuring cup at work, so I had to eyeball the water and milk amounts. Going forward, I’ll probably stick to using this set on work-from-home days when I can prep things more precisely. Overall, though, it’s a lovely set and a nice way to make your matcha moments feel a little special.
