I got this for a birthday gift for my daughter who is a barista and currently going through a matcha phase, I also got her a package of some higher grade culinary matcha to make with this. Anyway, she loved this and worried that I had spent too much so this made an impact. She loves it and uses it several times a week! At first she said she thought the bottom of the bowl was too wide but I tried telling her that she is supposed to use that space for getting the matcha well whisked and she hasn't had a problem with it, but honestly I don't know what I am talking about LOL. I have a battery powered frother and she could use that for matcha but despite this she continues to use this set to make matcha, so this was a big hit!

There are other ways you can prepare matcha tea that are easier and faster. My personal favorite is to use a frothing pitcher designed for frothing milk -- this is the best way I've found to do it that reliably dissolves all the matcha powder in the water -- no more clumps.This gift set with a bamboo whisk is a more traditional way to make matcha. Honestly, the results aren't as good as using a frother. I have yet to prepare a cup this way that doesn't have some undissolved clumps. On the other hand, sometimes there's value in preparing things in a traditional -- even ceremonial --way. It's kind of like how making your own loaf of bread can be incredibly satisfying, even if it's much easier and faster to buy it at the bakery.The quality of the set is good, and aesthetically it's adorable. The bamboo whisk is a bit fragile, so you'll need to treat it with care to avoid breaking it. And you'll need a place to store the bowl and whisk-on-a-stand.4/5 stars. It's quite nice for what it is, but it's certainly less practical than making matcha with other tools you might already have in your kitchen. Recommended for someone who is a matcha enthusiast and/or someone who appreciates tradition and ceremony.

This is a nice set for making tea. It comes with everything you need. All the items in the set are a nice color that would go with most kitchen decors. They all seem well made and should last for years if taken care of

I bought this for my wife, so this is what she reported to me:Everything is good except the whisk has tiny pieces of the bamboo breaking off when it is used, and the powder sticks too much to the scoop. A metal scoop and wire whisk would probably work better.Other than that, she likes the set. She believes 4 stars is fair.

As someone who has been drinking matcha for years and has used everything from a blender to an electric frother, I can't believe it took me this long to order an authentic matcha set. Wow, have I been missing out. Matcha is so much better this way.Everything works as it should, and the design and color of this set are very pretty. The scoop holds just the right amount of powder and the handle on the scooper is convenient because it saves me from getting matcha on my sleeves when scooping with a teaspoon like I used to do.The sifter is great at preventing the clumps that I used to get no matter what I did. The whisk gives me a nice, smooth, and frothy matcha. The bowl allows me to cleanly pour my matcha into a cup without spilling anywhere.
