There are almost zero reviews on the LinLai tubes as new as they seem to be. Apparently what happened is Psvayne had an internal feud regarding direction of the company and sound direction resulting in a company Vice President leaving and he did what any respected VP would do, he took some of his people with him to develop his vision of tubes. Linlai is people Going to their site they said the focus of Linlai was to produce specifically HI FI tubes which could compete with current production tubes from other offerings and do it better and at a more competitive price effectively taking a small share of the market if they could make it work. IMHO, they did in fact make it work and I am one happy customer.First thing first, I'm just a consumer, I have no skin in the game with anyone. I'm a locomotive engineer and that's it. No paid reviews, no compensation for anything other than my profession. I'm not a hardcore audiophile. I'm using these on an Xduoo ta10r with the Beyerdynamic Amiron Home hp's connected to my desktop comp through USB cable. I personally like to eq my headphones so I use Boom 3d for that. I'm not looking for precision sound, I'm looking for fun sound and nobody I know using tubes is looking for precision, just fun, wide soundstage above average musical bliss... Linlai does this for me in spades. $50 for a matched set is low priced and I was as skeptical as could be because in the audiophile world everyone overpromises and then delivers average products until you hit the almost $500 mark for dac/amp equipment. I HAD to know how this tube sounded because the 12au7 world is limited to just a few great tubes and a lot of what I would consider subpar offerings. What they promised from this tube is unheard of at the price it's being sold for new. I had to know. My amp only uses one tube so I figured even if one failed I had a fallback tube.So far I have used a Psvayne art series, which I really enjoyed the sound of until at around the 750 hour mark give or take a bit developed horrible microphonics in one ear. It sounded great but was unreliable. I still have and use a Pinnacle ECC82 NOS which I picked up from ebay from a trusted tube seller which is awesome and a NOS Amperex Holland made ECC82 which is equally wonderful but after spending over $60 on a single Psvayne which quickly failed I was understandably upset. The sound was great but reliability sucked. I took the plunge at $50 per matched pair just to see... I am thrilled. I didn't even burn it in, literally plugged it in and three minutes later slapped on my hp's. ZERO microphonics even when tapped with my fingernail. The glass is a bit bigger than my other tubes but it fits fine, the posts are perfectly straight. Wide soundstage, bass is great but not overbloated, the highs are good without being sharp... it's kind of V shaped but that's really not an accurate description because the mids are good, it's like things sound like they are supposed to without the congestion and good air around the instruments also. Its a great tube and for the price it's an absolute steal in my opinion. Totally worth taking the dive and when I upgrade my tube amp I think I'll be using their tubes because I just really like what I'm hearing so far without even having them burned in properly. I have zero regrets at all. Linlai made the statement on their site that they were literally focusing on western style music which has double kick drums and bass guitar in a lot of music and China focuses more on treble type instruments, I think they really hit the nail on the head here. Just my two cents here, I hope you find what you're looking for in sound signature and if you have a few extra bucks in your pockets maybe give these a try, you might be surprised!

These are better than most I have tried including much more expensive tubes. They're very neutral to a shallow V. Very great sound! What a surprise for the price!
