Does its purpose, however you will end up hitting your leg on the exposed bracket. Very easy to install even for me and has basically fixed the problem I was having with stuff slipping next to my bed

They work and were so easy to install. The wrench they come with is easy and fast to use. I would imagine you might have to tighten them up from time to time but it's so worth it. We took out the headboard and the bed was constantly moving to one side or the other all the time. Since we use a latex mattress, it's heavy to move, so this is a blessing to have.If you're tired of your bed moving around the frame, this is for you!
