Bought this rod to replace an inexpensive Aventik. The Aventik wasn't bad but something just didn't seem right with it. My other rods are Maxcatch and I like them so I bought this rod as my go to 3 wt. It seems very well made and I like how it casts. I swapped out the reel and line from my old rod and could tell the difference right away more, good casts with this over the Aventik. As to warranty, there is in fact a warranty but after fly fishing for three years I have never broken a rod. I am wondering what people are doing to repeatedly break rods as they claim on these reviews? Frankly, at Maxcatch prices I can get 2-3, or more, rods for the price of of one for some other premier, bragging rights rods so is a warranty that big a deal? Don't hesitate to buy this rod.

Used this rod a couple times now and love it!!I feel it’s built well, great quality and I seem to make accurate casts. I think it’s well worth the price and I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it was.

I bought the 6'6" 2 wt. Love this little rod for creek fishing. Fit and finish in-person is very nice. I actually use it more with multi-fly nymph setups. The stiffness allows you to cast tungsten nymphs and an indicator nicely with a rollcast. My other small rods don't have the backone that this one does. Rod looks great and fishes really nicely. I've actually landed summer steelhead on this (while fishing for small creek rainbows). Also casts dry flies really nicely. I have it setup with Rio creek line 2wt and a Reddington Zero 2/3 clicker reel.

Beware anything maxcatch bought on Amazon has zero warranty! Won't even sale you a part! I bought a reel and dropped it, my fault, tried for 2 weeks to buy a replacement spool and couldn't. Even threatened me with a lawyer saying that I was slandering the company.. Buyer Beware!

yeah everything about this is great. the portability, length, action speed and color. the cork handle is super nice and it comes with a hard shell case to carry the dang thing. i take this to every fishing hole i go to now because, no matter what kind of fishing im in the mood for that day, this rod with a reel and a simple fly box is so loght that i can just toss it in a backpack and add nearly zero extra weight to my pack. fantastic rod.

My husband is absolutely thrilled with this two weight fly rod. The case is extremely sturdy and holds all four pieces in separate compartments within it. This is a great value, and he was so impressed, which says a lot because he has been flyfishing for about 30 years and ties his own flies.

This light weight fly rod is fantastic. The craftsmanship is impressive. I used this today to catch brook trout on a local stream. I have been fly fishing for 30 years and this rod is outstanding especially for the price point. If you are looking for a great addition to your fly fishing rod collection this rod is one of quality.

This is a very nice rod and a good size for smaller creeks or rivers. I am used to 8'6" rods typically. This one is 7'6" and was a good fit for the area I was fishing and size fish typically caught in this water. It's performance is excellent, and although it says it is a fast action rod it is more a medium action rod. At least it is the way I had rigged it with 4wt line. It's lightweight and a great value for the money. It has what appears to be real burl wood reel saddle or seat and gold aluminum reel nuts. It's pretty would be a better description 😉😁.I caught a couple of smaller 12 -13 inch stock trout with a very fun tussle bringing them in. My wife actually prefers the action of this fly rod to the stiffer fly rod she had been using. She brought in a few rainbow trout and a smaller brown.I had it a bit overweighted with 4wt line and we both really like the action.I would definitely recommend this rod, and purchase it in the future for myself or as a gift. I would really like to see this same rod in an 8'6" length maybe considered a 3-4 wt, but that is not the selling point of this particular rod which is described as a small creek rod.
