I needed to burn a few DVDs, and also needed cases for them. These DVD+Rs solved both of those problems.Nothing special about the cases. They're the slim jewel case kind. Black plastic back with clear plastic front cover, and a folded paper insert with lines on the front and inside. The words "Maxell DVD+R" and "4.7GB/16x/2hrs SP" are screened on the front of the disc, and you can see the purple-blue data layer on the rear.I used 5 of the discs in a Matshita UJ-898 laptop burner (15" MacBook Pro), and none of them were bad. For disc nerds, the media code of the discs was "RITEK F16"Side note: For some reason, Amazon's "Technical Details" say these discs are 4x, while the product image shows "8x". The actual product I received from Amazon was 16x.EDIT 31 October 2011: Amazon seems to have finally corrected their product info, and now properly shows "16x" in the photo.

Just thought I'd toss this out there for anyone who cared to look;I've used four of the ten of the pack, and they work great. I've watched them on my laptop, and on three different DVD players. The older DVD player had a bit of an issue recognizing the DVD for a second or two, then it seemed to work fine. It may just be because it's old and slow, not because of the DVD itself. They don't skip, they burn well, and all else is good. I know a lot of people worry about compatibility issues, but I've had none yet, and I've used a few different brands. My laptop is a Toshiba, the DVD players are Sony and JVC models. Hope this helps some hopefuls. :D
