Up to 54" ??? Nope! Good quality and material however it says aprox 54 inch maximum length. It's easily 10 inches short of that if you don't add the plastic clips in the measurement. If you do include the total length, clips and all it's still only 47 inches long... 7 inches short is a lot when you need it to fit over other gear or a coat ect. If you don't need it longer it an awesome strap. If you do need it, your not going to be happy.

Nice, heavy duty strap. I could be about 6" longer, but other than that, a nice strap.

A fast delivery and it matches the bag I needed it for perfectly. Looks like it was bought with the bag, I can now use the bag as over shoulder as well as a hand one.

I purchased the Maxpedition Sabercat Versipack and after reading reviews, decided to go ahead and buy the extra shoulder strap as well. I am glad I did! I highly recommend it.My Versipack arrived before the strap, so I had a chance to go out on a short hike with my pack loaded for a test. Immediately I realized that I needed the extra strap. I had to keep repositioning the pack as it kept sagging down. Once the strap arrived problem solved! The strap also helps distribute the weight more evenly and I can now get some extra little attachments to add to the strap for my phone, etc.

I ruined my previous shoulder strap (don't ask, lol) for a small range bag I use so I went to Amazon to look for a replacement. This one fit the bill quite well. The hooks can actually swivel 360 degrees which my previous ones couldn't. No more unraveling the straps anymore.Quite sturdy & robust too. What else do you expect from a Maxpedition Gear product.

Greetings fellow adventurers,On the eve of one unnaturally warm October night, I put aside my Silverfish Skeleton of Sufficient Sunderment (with which I oft hunt) with a notion, a strange whim, if I may, to seek out something... New. My mind grew dark, my thoughts - few. Where to turn? "To the left" thought I, and upon doing so I noticed a deer, foaming at the mouth, still as a statue and staring, just staring, at me through the darkened window. I approached, and as I drew near the peculiar creature's mouth opened wide. "Whhrrroooooahhhggghhhhhkakakakaka!!!!" the dear screamed, coating the window in white paste - a product of its rabid state, no doubt. Then silence, a chilling silence, fell about the room, save for bouts of whistling gusts outside. "At last" I thought, "it's over". Betraying thoughts. SCREEEECH!! Against the window the deer's hoof fell, time and time again, a harrowing event that seemed to last an eternity. "Sweet Knights of Columbus, deer, what is it that you seek?!" I said with confidence, dashing to the window with hopes of forever ridding myself of the accursed animal. It was gone. Nowhere to be seen. Only the window remained to prove my sanity, it with its hasty etchings. Familiar etchings.. I sought my computer for an answer, a Googled image of similarity. My search lasted hours; nothing. I became sidetracked and found myself on Amazon.com. There, suggested, was a little tea kettle, but next to that.. the Maxpedition 2" Shoulder Strap. Curious. A long, wide, snake-like object with two ends of pronounced bulbarity, intricate in weave, yet simple in design.. Could this be... I glanced again at the window, then back at the screen. "Nope" ruled I, "completely different". Nonetheless I bought the strap, which now serves as a bandolier, holding all of my silverfish skeletons in addition to a pair of low dangling, foam-saturated, conquered deer hooves.
