Good quality and great packaging. Assembly was a nightmare but that’s down to the car not the product. Adjustments to the top mounts on front had to be made due to the centre bore size of these struts are larger then original, little bit of time filing and all fits like a glove.

This is not installation instructions or advice. I take no responsibility for any property damage or body injury. All information provided in this review is just what i remember doing off the top of my head, from my personal experience. Anybody working on a car should take full responsibility of their own actions. To begin, these coilovers are worth every penny! Best investment that I have made for my B7 2006 A4 quattro sedan. Removed 1 star for the fact that the strut mounts need to be drilled bigger, and there was no information on install or what size drill bit was required. Drilling was not a big deal, but it would have been nice to know the size and have proper instructions. I will provide you all with my experience so that everybody will have an idea of what to expect when purchasing these. My factory struts and springs were worn out. Driving down the highway was like driving a boat on rough seas. I did not plan to do any heavy modification to this car, and just needed a low cost option for replacing the factory suspension. I paired these coilovers with a new control arm kit (Drivestar and Bapmic are both solid kits for around $200), and this car now feels more solid than it did when it rolled off the factory assembly line. These coilovers can go low. Extremely low. Undriveable low! I adjusted them almost as far up as they can go, and by doing so it lowered my car by about 1 inch.To install the front coilovers you will need to drill the factory Strut mounts to fit the thicker post of these coilovers. This was no big deal. I measured the post of the front coilovers at 13.6mm (roughly 9/16") with my digital caliper. I decided to get new Strut mounts ($30), and I used a stepping drill bit from HF ($6). I burned out the drill bit and ended up getting a 2nd bit, so plan on getting 2 or 3 bits from HF, and return the extra if you don't use them. Go slow while drilling, take your time, I do not recommend using oil while drilling the strut mounts. To assemble the coilover onto the Strut mount & bracket I used an impact gun on the first coilover. It securely tightened the nut without spinning the shaft of the coilover. For the 2nd coilover i tried the impact gun, but the shaft of the coilover was spinning, keeping the nut from tightening all the way. My solution was to use an o2 sensor socket (7/8") with an Allen wrench (I think 8mm, not positive) to keep he post from spinning, turning the o2 socket with a large cresent wrench. For the peace of mind I double checked the first coilover using the o2 socket, and it was indeed tight. After assembling the coilover/mount/bracket it is now time to adjust the coilover. Adjusting the coilover with the supplied spanner wrenches is not easy. This is not just this brand, but with most any coilovers. I tightening the adjustment just enough to hold the spring in place, then put my car back together to see how low it was. It was so low! Undriveable! I then removed the front coilovers from the car, turning them upside down. I used my feet to hold the Strut mounts steady, while twisting the bottom of the coilover (now on top since its upside down) with a 3ft bar. This was easy! I measured 103mm between the very bottom thread, and the bottom of the adjustment ring. I did this for both front coilovers. I then installed them back into my car and got the exact ride height that I had hoped for. I got a measurement of roughly 13" from the center of my wheel, to my fender, giving me roughly 1" drop from factory height. Both sides measured the same. The car rides so smooth! It is firm, but not bumpy. Feels solid! I measured the tie rod length before replacing tie rods, and reinstalled the new tie rods at the same exact length. My alignment is better now than it was before, and I haven't even taken it into an alignment shop yet. If you are not replacing tie rods then you have no need to do any tie rod measuring or adjustments. So far I have only installed the fronts. I do plan to install the rear coilovers, and then getting an alignment, but for now my car drives great! Will update my review after I get around to installing the rear coilovers. As for now, I would recommend these coilovers to anybody with a B7 that either has worn out struts, or wants to go a little lower than factory height! I will definitely buy again for any b7 in the future.

I put these on my 04 a4 Quattro and they fit perfect. I’m running pretty low but not slammed and they seem to be holding up just fine. Good cheap replacement for worn out suspensions like mine

2006 a4 avant. The front strut posts are too big. The diameter will not fit into the top strut mount. You would have to drill it out and that comes with safety concerns. If they sold new mounts that fit, I would have kept these. The quality seemed good.

Received item faster then a anticipated. Bought it for my sons birthday. When he opened the box the whole box was full of oil. The rear shocks had leaked all the oil out and they were collapsed and absolutely unusable. After contacting the seller I was told they would send out another set of rear shocks and it would be 5 to 10 working days. It's been 15 working days. Contacted them today and they responded by telling me they will check with their manufacturer and get back to me. Which means they are not coming. I will have to purchase two new rear shocks. But not from Maxpeed!!
