There's a reason so many mountain bikes have Maxxis tires. This tire hooks up very well and if it doesn't, you can count on predictable drifting. I'm cornering better than before and am consistently impressed how well this tire goes wherever you point it.

They're a tiny bit less than 2.8 inch wide. They measure 2.7 inches (just an FYI).

Decided to replace my Maxxis Recon+ 27.5x2.8s with the Minions and didn't regret it. Super grippy on the climbs and that's exactly what i wanted. First ride today and loved them. As a bonus they came a day early. Only negative is that shipping details were never updated so i couldn't track them. Whether that was from Canada Post or TBS Bike Parts. Regardless, great tire. I'll buy from these guys again.

This is the best front tire you can buy for any type of terrain, I changed my front tire and it was a night and day difference! The bike just feels amazing, it gives you a lot of confidence on the corner and braking!Also I have seen people on my local trails rocking the minion DHF on the front and rear

These tires handle a ton of abuse. I love techy terrain. I run them tubeless and have yet to experience a flat despite fast descents down the harsh rocks and roots on Southern IN trails.

With winter coming and a wider rougher trail in mind over the winter months I decided to upgrade from my 21. Menzcal’s to the 2.8 Maxxis. First things first ensure you have a wide enough wheel to support them I’d recommend a 30+ inner rim for a squarer more planted wheel.Straight out of the box these tyres are much heavier, to be expected with all that extra rubber. The tyres themselves are well made, well finished, soft compound with a great tread pattern that can easily cut through mud and slush as well as allowing you both a smoother and more planet ride.
