If you do any home repair at all, this is a great tool to have around. It just has so many applications. Because of its small size and fine teeth, you can get into areas that you wouldn’t think possible. It’s well constructed. I felt the price was reasonable

Works best on paints that dry hard. Flexible latex paints tend to peel.The wood block makes a nice handle. Can't quite get all the way in corners without taking the file out though.The block has good cutouts. Fits the file well. The magnet seems to hold the file pretty well, and is fully recessed.Weighs around 63g, the file is about half that weight.

I used this when painting shelves and book cases, where you have drips and blobs of excess paint this quickly knocks it down level for a smooth finish. The trick is to use super light pressure, almost to the point where you a holding it up slightly, this way you won't damage the surrounding area. Its quicker then using sandpaper but may leave some ridges behind if you're too heavy handed.

I’ve had to explain what a deboning file is to every member of my family, since I got this.So far it’s worked brilliantly on walls. Both sides of the file are great and if you brush it out, it should function well for a long time. My only complaint is that the magnet isn’t the strongest. It’s adequate to hold the file but if you drop it, the file pops out.Other than that, it’s excellent and the wood block handle is comfortable.Pictures were taken before use.
