Replaced a yellowing OEM on my 2012 Miata just as a bit of insurance against breaking down on the road.

I had bought this and installed into my Mazda Miata MX5 about a year ago, and it's still holding up-and-doing its job. I was nervous about the quality of this product and I definitely don't have any complaints. It was super easy to install. I would recommend this.

Replaced on my 2008 Miata. Very simple swap. The original claps work well no need to replace. Has been working perfectly last 2 months.

Quality OEM part.. installation went well. Drained tank using hand pump then removed old tank (three hoses, three bolts). Had to nudge the battery cover, but basically pretty straight forward removal. Swapped it out on 2008 Miata with 175k miles - seemed to be consensus that it would be smart proactive move - as the tanks have a history of breaking over time. Interesting, when removing one of the top left smaller hoses, the original tank's male connector broke off. I was putting some pressure on it, but - hey - maybe it was a time for a change.

This is an actual Mazda part. If the expansion tank in your MX-5 is yellowed you should change it to avoid engine damage.if it splits. This was a quick 30 minute job. Plus I saved $30 over what the dealer wanted for the same part.

Item arrived in good condition with radiator pressure cap and overflow tube as pictured. It is straight forward to slide existing clamps down the hoses away from the tank with a pair of plier and break loose the hose from the plastic nipple ends also with plier. Do not use excess force as you can crush plastic nipples.I would do this with a cold engine as you can get scalded with hot coolant. To install the tank you need to loosen the horizontal plate that holds the hood support plastic retainer to get it fitted. Use a little bit of silicon grease on plastic nipples to slide on hoses. Use funnel to add coolant or water.

Easy to install.Replace before coolant leaks on the neck of the tank. This result in engine failure.
