The M-D Gum Rubber Float features a flexible rubber pad with a comfortable ABS handle to provide cofmort while installing grout during a tile job. This float is is designed to provide greater flexibility and help prevent scratches or damage caused by the grout during installation. This tool is particularly well-suited for use with delicate or soft tiles like natural stone or glazed ceramics. It’s light, but hard to clean if your grout dried on it. Love the handle which gives you more coverage as it’s shaped in a rectangle and more surface space to cover. Not something to keep after one use as it’ll be not worth cleaning it. Better to just buy another one.

Yeah, grouting is a drag, but this tool helps to make it easier and gives a nice finished product. Grouting is the equivalent, for a tile installer, to wood sanding for a cabinet maker. Both are tedious, require patience, and absolutely determine how good the finished product is going to look.This float was inexpensive, is lightweight, and worked very well. It was also easy to clean up after the fact and still looks almost brand new; I expect it to last through several more (tedious) grouting jobs, although they all wear out eventually.

Pretty straight forward easy to use tool. Pretty durable too, as I cleaned the edge with a metal loading trowel more than a couple times and didn't see and impact on the rubber edging. Didn't drop it once and it cleaned up nicely.

It worked well for grouting a custom bar and coffee table that I had made but nearing the end of the project the rubber started peeling away at the edges of the float. I was happy with it's performance as I only needed it for these things and am not likely to be doing any tile work for a long time but I wouldn't recommend for someone who is doing tile work all the time.

Pretty basic rubber float, but is a great value and very comfortable.I have grouted about 600 square feet of tile so far, and the float has held up well. I will probably get about another 600 square feet out of this float before having to retire it. Rubber floats are a disposable tool and this one seems to be a good value for the price point. For small jobs this float is a no-brainer. Even for professional use, this is a good value and I easily recommend it.

Great price, good product. I used it for a 60 sq ft bathroom remodel. I installed floor tiles, shower stall and 4 walls of floor-to-ceiling large format tiles. Product worked as intended. The rubber is dense and no corners have bent or collapsed. I did realize why it was somewhat less expensive than other models....I think they skimped on the finishing process....while cleaning it at the end of one of my days, I received a really nice, long slice on my thumb from the unfinished metal edge (where it meets the foam). The metal edging wasn't smoothed or rounded-over. In all fairness, you typically wouldn't be affected by this during normal use, but I was cleaning it pretty thoroughly and was a bit careless. I'm an advanced DIYer and will definitely get a few more uses from it - it held up well for this project. I'd recommend for non-trade use.NOTE: I purchased this item on Amazon for full price and have no affiliation to the seller. Used to tile my bathroom wall. Was working with mini subway tiles from vanity to ceiling. I appreciated that this had substance to it but was light weight. It didn’t feel flimsy and didn’t add a lot of strain on my arms. Used it for grouting after using it to press the tile sheets in to the mortar. Works great! Nice and soft so it didn’t scratch my tiles. Good addition to my tool box.

Well built and easy to use. No issues and worked very well. The handle is easy to grip and the gum bottom is very durable and holds grout easily. M-D have a good reputation and sell a good assortment of accessories and are inexpensive and made to last.
