They work ok the issue I had was the button is super touchy. So if I even bumped it or adjust it. It would retract and I would have to get it set up all over again. That was the most frustrating part about them.

I am constantly looking for a measuring tape to measure an area. My wife was trying to order a shirt for me and needed my neck size and I took my handyman measuring tape and ended up giving her the wrong measurement as metal doesnt bend well. The neck on the shirt was too tight. I grabbed these so I dont have to suffer with a tight neck choking me (I had to keep that one unbuttoned and hide it behind a tie which was hard for me). Now I can measure my neck and make sure I get the most accurate reading so it doesnt look odd. Of course these have many uses and my wife will use this more than me.
