I ordered this because I needed to take some measurements around my property, it is a lightweight tool and it is easy to use so far I haven't found any inconsistencies with the measurements unlike other reviewers, maybe I just got a good one. It seems to be accurate for what it is. Functions correctly and a good value.

I’m pretty happy with this measuring wheel, and it bore up to everything I threw at it this summer. Even after heavy use and rough handling, the meter is still reading accurately and was a great help with estimating dirt and gravel. The body is both aluminum and plastic, with all the components more than capable of handling a construction environment. I appreciate the vertical positioning pin, as I haven’t had that on the previous measuring wheels I’ve owned. The carrying case is decent too, making the wheel much easier to transport and store.

Awesome measuring wheel. I like the fact it has a kick stand that is strong and sturdy. Everything about this trundle wheel is better than the usual ones that are much more basic and dont fold, and don't have a kickstand. Heck, some don't even have the counter on them, they just click every foot instead and you have to listen and count the clicks. So this is a "premium mid-grade" wheel I would say. It has no electronics like some more expensive ones do, but its just a measuring wheel. If it ain't broke... you know the rest.I have used this one cement, asphalt, grass, gravel, loose gravel, carpet, tile, wood flooring, and it does the job accurately every time. There is no surface that it does poorly on except for wet slick surfaces like slick mud or ice, it wont be as accurate in those cases because the wheel will skid a little bit.The counter works well and its easy to reach down and press the reset lever back to zero.I am quite sure this will last a lifetime if properly taken care of. Its worth the money. If you do fencing or concrete work or if you need to survey a property roughly, this is great for you because those long tape measures are cumbersome to work with if you are alone and those laser measuring devices while theoretically seem like the best in some cases, they really arent great for many cases, especially when it is sunny out.I can pull up to a home, jump out of the car, unfold this and just walk the property in under a minute and have my measurements to use to then make an estimate for the customer. Landscape Construction contractors, when you go measure a home, try this wheel instead of your trusty 25' tape measure. I think you will come to love this method of measuring.Anyhow, specific to this wheel I must say it is not too basic and not too advanced. Its not too cheap and not too expensive. Its just right, and its well-built and functions as it should.5 stars easily.

I like the ability to fold the handle to save space. All of these measuring wheels work the same, basically. This one is just more convenient than others I have used. It does feel a little cheaply made, but I have not had any issues so far.

Portable, easy to use and seemingly durable so far. This rolling measuring wheel is great when you need to accurately measure long distances. Just remember that any deviation from a straight line will throw off the measurement so plan accordingly (lay out a string, paint a strip, keep a constant distance from a reference point, etc.). This is a nice option for a quick measurement when planning projects.

This measuring wheel is exactly what I needed for measuring my yard to calculate square footage. It works very well - the mechanism scrolls smoothly and it collapses down for easy storage, and even comes with a nice well constructed storage bag.

So this unit look super cheap ! Nothing look or feel high quality. And it ok, if it does the jobs... But it seem to be priced way too expensive for what this is... It just an amalgam of a few cheap part together with a transport bag... Not worth the price. But does it turn well, and will it give a somewhat accuracy result, I think it does, but I haven't had equipment to test it on very long distance.I personally wish I could switch the unit of distance... But you cannot... At that price, I think we should have this option. It should even have an bluetooth connectivity plus an android app and a phone stand a that price.

This is a great tool for measuring long distances when a tape measurer just won't do. I used this to measure out some areas in my yard that I need landscaping stone and it is VERY HELPFUL. There's a little pointer on the side of the wheel to help you get an accurate read. The odometer can be reset easily by sliding the button. It features a hand brake to stop and hold it at the measurement you want. It has a handy little kickstand that folds in when not in use and also clips the body together. Yes, this tools folds down very easily and fits into its own zip-up storage bag (included). I really like this because it's much easier to store away. The quality is good. It feels sturdy enough to get the job done. There are some more premium models out there of course, but this one settles nicely between quality and affordability.

What's included:- Measuring wheel- Carrying bagThe measuring wheel by Firecore works well and is quite accurate, however the components made of plastic while making the wheel easier to use and transport, could compromise durability. Also, there is no lighting for the counter so in low light settings, this can be hard to read without using a light aid.ASSEMBLYAssembling the measuring wheel is very easy. It is all one piece but folded. To start using it, simply flip the top portion into its locked position and the measuring wheel is ready to be used. Please note that in my pictures I note that this connection is made of plastic and while the black pole is metallic, being locked into place by a plastic connector is less than ideal.MATERIALSPerhaps my biggest concern with this measuring wheel is the use of plastic in key areas. For example, I just noted above that the tool is held together by a plastic connector that locks into place, and while the lock mechanism is good, its hardly as durable as it otherwise could be.Additionally, the handle at the top where the measuring wheel is grasped is also all plastic. This means that there is very little leverage in holding the wheel steady in the event of a strong perpendicular wind against the measuring wheel. In such a circumstance, it becomes necessary to also grasp the measuring wheel midway down with my other hand to make sure that the connector doesn't snap. I am probably being over-cautious with respect to this, but because I am holding the handle all the way at the end and a strong wind blowing against the measuring wheel from the side, there is little leverage so that's what I am forced to do. So ideally, it would be best to use this measuring wheel in a calm environment when possible. The tire is actually made of TPR rubber which is supposed to feel like a composite of rubber and plastic together. In actually using the measuring wheel, this tire feels more plastic than rubber and so its not as forgiving on bumpy surfaces.PERFORMANCELet me note a few areas of very good performance. First, the kickstand is made of metal and functions perfectly and is easy to engage and disengage with my foot. Its very convenient and well placed. Also keep in mind the dimensions of this measuring wheel which may be a small issue for some. I am 5'9" and this measuring wheel seems custom made for that height.Second, the counter reset lever is easy and intuitive. Just flip the lever forward and it will reset the counter. I would note that the counter can reach 99,999 feet 11 inches before resetting. I would also note that this measuring wheel does not use decimals which means measurements are properly represented.Third, to test accuracy, what I did was place two markers on the ground using a regular tape measure at a starting point and then exactly 1' away. To try to see the accuracy of the wheel, I then marked the wheel at a certain point and placed the wheel at that point exactly over the starting point on the ground. I then pushed the measuring wheel forward to see if the point would line up with the marker on the ground created with the tape measure, after 1'. It did virtually exactly. This is sufficiently accurate as a result in my humble opinion.Next, I would point out that the break mechanism works great. On the handle is a trigger that when pressed, engages the brake immediately with virtually no delay. While this measuring wheel has some very good aspects to performance it does have drawbacks. First, if trying to use this in low light, be prepared to have a flashlight to read the counter. The numbers are generally easily visible, but in low light, it becomes quite difficult without using a flashlight in my case.Next, I noted the plastic components impacting a smooth experience with this measuring wheel when using it in less than ideal weather conditions - especially where wind hits the measuring wheel from a perpendicular angle and these need to be kept in mind.SOME ADDITIONAL POINTSIn addition to the points I have made above, I would also note that the wheel is quite stiff which can be a blessing and a curse depending on the circumstances. Also, the measuring wheel does come with a nice carrying case (not pictured) which also has a pocket to hold additional items if needed. As also noted, the ideal use case scenario for this measuring wheel is one with sufficient lighting to read the counter and where high winds do not play a role. The object is quite light and folds away into its carrying case and so is quite portable and light which is something I really like. The plastic handle is sufficient for me however it may be a little small for some and its a plastic handle without any additional grip aid but works fine for me.FINAL THOUGHTSThe measuring wheel is an interesting combination of metal and plastic which result in an accurate, light weight tool that can be important in varying lines of work. This can be easily used indoors and may actually be best suited for such a purpose, however, for real benefit in my case, its the ability to use the measuring wheel in an uneven topological environment to get accurate distances. As long as I have a light source with me (stored in the carrying case) I am good to go with this measuring wheel but when the weather becomes less than friendly, I pause and wait it out and that's a little unfortunate.Cheers,

This measuring wheel is a good product - but I can't call it great. And that's because of the use of hard, brittle plastic parts that I don't believe would stand up to day-to-day professional use.The two long "arms" that make up the body of the unit, are in fact steel. Confirmed with a simple magnet. This part is great. However the top handle and the middle folding joint, are both made of hard plastic that makes me think of cheap kids toys from years ago. The top handle and the collapsible joint are joined to the steel pipes with simple pop-rivets.The handle at the top, has a trigger under your index finger, that will lock the wheel from tuning. A great feature! But the execution is not smooth. The same can be said of the locking mechanism on the collapsible joint. It is a simple push down button - not smooth but rather hard plastic on hard plastic. If any of these parts develop a crack or break, I don't see how it can be repaired. There is a built-in kickstand that allows you to park the unit upright. It is welded steel and works very well. It will stay up or down in either position, and is help with two strong springs on either side of the hinge that holds the kickstand in place. The numbers on the number display are large (1/4") with great contrast. The numbers are in white and the surrounding bezel is black. To the right side of the digit display (measured in feet only) is a display in reverse colour (black numbers on white background) showing inches.A reset leaver on the left side of the display block/box is an easy and quick action to zero out the numbers. The wheel is 12" in diameter, and is about 1" wide. The surface of the wheel seems like a rubber compound of sorts. It does not slip on concrete, asphalt or tile.In use, it is easy to keep in line. The height is fine for me - 6' - as I do not have to bend over. The handle is not adjustable for different lengths. At the bottom of the kickstand, there are two plastic pads on the bottom of the feet. They are attached to the steel feet with a very small Philips screw. Be careful if you open or close the kickstand by hand. The corners of those plastic pads are sharp! Perhaps not sharp enough to pierce you skin, but close! Because the kickstand has those two, stiff springs, the opening or closing action can easily get away from you. This is an interesting product. Some parts of the unit are excellent! Like the kickstand - tough, well thought out and I have no doubt, can take some punishment without any problem. But then there are other parts made out of that hard plastic. Some buttons rattle in place, and it does not give me confidence that I can throw this unit into the back of my truck, and not have something break.Bottom Line - as is, it works very well. It has just about all the features you would want, at a very reasonable price. It just lacks a bit of refinement. Because of the materials used in some parts, I don't believe that this unit would survive as a rental tool, or one used by many different people. Purchased by you - and just for you - I believe you would get many years of work out of it.

This thing is built tough and rolls smoothly over all sorts of surfaces like concrete, gravel, etc. The measurements are spot-on, and the display is clear and easy to read. The brake and kickstand are nice touches. The brake helps you stop exactly where you need to without messing up the measurement, and the kickstand is super convenient for when you need to take a break. That said, the handle could be a bit more solid, it feels a little wobbly when it's fully extended. Also, resetting it to zero can be a bit fiddly at times.Despite these small issues, it's a solid tool that’s definitely made measuring distances on my job sites a lot easier. With a few small improvements, it could be awesome. and to be honest, i had no idea i needed one of these.

This measuring wheel seems to be more robust for outdoor use than most others. The wheel is wide and the rear kickstand is more stable than the typical side kickstand. The hand brake is a great feature and works well. The counter numbers are easy to read and the reset is very positive. The handle is thick & folds to fit the wheel in the handy carry bag. The measurements are sufficiently accurate relative to a tape measure on a paved surface. My unit has a bit of a quality issue so I am deducting a star. There is something rattling around inside the hand grip. Annoying but not a big enough problem to exchange the product.
