It's a very well made adapter, no doubt. The PL mount collar is like butter. The machining all around is really well done. It looks and feels like an OEM product. The back cap is plastic, and the PL cap is machined aluminum. The drop in system is very well done, and the filter case stack system is super nice. The VND is light enough at its lowest setting to keep in for the vast majority of uses. However, if need be, the clear filter is included. The only thing I wish they had done is make the clear and/or VND also an IR cut.

I've had several adapters from Meike for Sony, Leic, and Canon. In general their adapters are good, on the inexpensive price range, and generally have good tolerances. This is the first time I've gotten an adapter that had a built-in ND filter from Meike so I was interested in seeing how good it was. I'm happy to report that it works really well, having the filter in the adpater and saves a bunch of time trying to find ND filters for individual lenses during productions. I have several vintage cinema lenses I can now use on my Canon R5 camera, and it lightens up my camera gear. Note that you need to have the insert in at all times, even if you do not need the ND filter. Has a UV option to protect the shutter and sensor while attached, I guess. Lastly, the mounting to the camera is nice and tight, no play in the mount, which might affect focus or infinity focus. Lastly, it was nice to get caps for this adpater this time, most lower end adapters don't include those.
