My third try and a WDT and it will be my last. Works great and customer service goes above and beyond (operator error, not a defect of the tool)

Feels well made. The angle of the needles is perfect for getting as much coverage in the space of a filter basket. I will admit that I did not read the instructions and messed up the pre-installed needles— 100% my fault. After reading the instructions and installing the backups, I’m super happy with the product.

Does what it’s supposed to. Easy to use and love that it has its own stand. Easy to use.

I recently got my hands on this espresso distributor, and I must say, it's an impressive piece of equipment. The style is absolutely awesome—it has a sleek, modern design that adds a professional touch to my coffee setup. What really stands out is the weight of it; the solid, hefty feel makes it feel incredibly premium and well-crafted. It distributes the coffee grounds evenly, enhancing the consistency of my espresso shots. Overall, I’m thoroughly impressed with its performance and aesthetic appeal. A must-have for any espresso enthusiast!

This espresso distributor has a great feel to it, with a nice weight that makes it feel solid and high-quality. The base is well-designed and doubles as a cap, which is a great feature for keeping things neat and preventing mess on your counter. The retracting system is smooth and helps keep the unit compact when not in use, making it easy to store.I was impressed with the retracting capabilities. Feels nice to operate, sturdy in hand and doesn’t have that lightweight, flimsy feel that some cheaper options do. The balance and smooth motion when using it really stand out.Overall, this is a fantastic espresso distributor that delivers in both quality and performance. If you want something that looks good, feels premium, and actually helps improve your espresso-making process, this is a great pick. Definitely recommend!

I have to admit, I was entirely skeptical about this tool at first. I'm not a super fancy coffee drinker, but I like it enough to try and find ways to improve my drinking experience.I have a pretty basic, but capricious espresso machine (looking at you Cafe Roma!), and the grinding has to be just right. While I have invested in a good grinder, this tool really helped make things better all over! In fact, even with a good quality grinder, you sometimes gets clumps. This tool helps break them so the coffee is well distributed and flows adequately. After using it for a few weeks, I can say it is a useful tool for me and my setup. Plus, using it is fun. I get a kick every time I flip the tool and the needles retract. It's always somehow super satisfying. The tool comes with replacement needles if one of them breaks. Good quality all over.

This retractable WDT tool is primarily made of a solid (aluminum?) alloy. When the needles are deployed––by pressing the top button—the internal, sliding weight drops and pushes out stainless steel wire needles. The flexible needles are straight, but the guide holes are ANGLED slightly outwards, causing a bit of friction from the wires rubbing against the metal of the guide holes. There are only 6 needles; but they are trying to fully extend themselves (with the help of gravity & a heavy internal weight), and at the same time are simultaneously being bent and splayed outward through those angled guide holes. This can slow down the full & proper deployment of the needles. For best results, this tool should be held as close to vertical as possible before pressing the release button. Even a little tilt can affect a complete deployment of the wires. If the needles pop out only partially, though, just give the tool a flick to RETRACT all the needles, and start over.A compact stand keeps this product handy, sitting near your espresso machine. It's fairly inexpensive, and a lot of fun to play with, too.

This WDT tool works great.I almost bought the Subminimal retracting WDT tool instead, but like that this one uses standard needles rather than custom ones like the Subminimal does. Although I do like the look of the Subminimal better and would have been willing to pay the higher price for that one if not for its use of nonstandard needles.Something a little annoying about this one is that I've experienced it unscrewing itself a few times in the couple weeks i've had it. So while I'm using it, the base collar as well as the inner needle holder has dropped out. As my grip is nowhere near the collar at any point, I have no idea how it manages to unscrew itself. Another thing is that one time, the needles got caught inside trying to extend. I'm guessing this is related to it gradually unscrewing itself. Docking it a star for these issues. One more minor thing is that I wish the needles extended out just a bit further. I'm using this with a Flair Pro 3, which has a relatively deep portafilter basket due to its smaller 46mm diameter. I find that if I'm dosing a larger amount of "fluffier" coffee that fills its dosing funnel more fully before being knocked and tamped down, then I can't always properly WDT without dragging the base of the holder through the top of the grounds. With lower doses and/or different coffee, there's no issue, though. And I expect that for those using standard 58mm portafilters, also never an issue. Not docking the score for this; just an observation.Overall, I like this WDT tool and am happy with it given its functionality, compact size for travel, and price point.

I got this because I have to let my other tools upside down and sometimes I get stabbed... This one fixes that and I can get rid of all my other ones!I enjoy that this is safer and it's more fun to use. It has real heft to it as well. Ready to use right out of the box, you don't need to add the needles yourself. The little cap stand is useful and will catch any of the grinds that fall out that clung to the needles.

Good idea. It works works well. Until you have to take it apart. Unless you are extremely dexterous and very good at working with your hands with numerous moving small objects, find a different one. Nearly impossible to get back together. I'm an electronics engineer and will work with small components daily. I barely got this back together. I almost threw it away.

First WDT tool was defective, so had to return. It had a broken tiny rod inside the push button. Already assembled with a defect in the factory... Second works better, but have to shake twice to comletely engage the needles.

Simple, but effective WDT tool. Fun to extend and retract. Comes with extra needles in case you need to replace.
