Easy to follow instructions for a 5year old. Also fun hearing a five year old try to remember the word Origami!

Lots of paper and animal choices to create--giving as a gift and the child loves animals and crafts!

I bought several "plane toys and games" for a 6 hour cross-country flight, and this was the clear winner both ways. It kept a 4yo entertained- loved the animals, great quality. One minor "complaint" is that some of the origami require scissors to complete- would have been nice to know, and, as it is advertised as a travel game, clearly scissors are a no-no on the plane. Not a big deal, but company might want to rethink some of the origami selection, or advertise differently. As said, minor point. We loved it!

My daughter loved this. We sat and did every one of them. the instructions are very clear and well illustrated. The pre-printed paper with the fold lines are well done and helped immensely. The stickers were a nice touch as well. They did progress nicely through difficulty levels and were clear that adult assistance would probably be needed for the more advanced ones. I’m very glad that there are advanced ones in this kit as accomplishing them was a good challenge and very satisfying.

I love that this book comes with written and visual instructions as well as the origami paper. The easy level crafts may require occasional adult assistance but the origami paper has lines that can be used as a guide. The intermediate and expert crafts were very challenging to complete for my upper elementary students. Even I had a difficult time to follow the instructions on the some of the more challenging designs. This is a great activity but definitely not something that younger children will be able to do on their own.

I purchased this to take with me when I visit my nieces and nephews aged between 4 - 8. I liked and chose this one because these pictures and directions seemed easy to follow. If it not readable for children, it's not much fun. The sheets of paper are for particular animals and have the fold lines already on them. It also has options for beginners, intermediate & advanced (although all designed for children). Another thing I really appreciated was having more than one of each animal which avoided fighting as to who got what. My 7 year old nephew asked me where I got it so he can purchase his own with his pocket money. Highly recommend.

This is a great little activity set! Our 6 year old son discovered Origami at summer camp, so I got this little set to bring on our trip to Hawaii figuring it would be good for the plane and while we were traveling. It was a hit! He loved making all the different animals and adding the eye stickers! The instructions for each animal are clear and dotted lines on the Origami paper help to guide. It was small enough to fit in my bag to bring to dinners - perfect for our son to work on while waiting for food to arrive. We also shared it with some other slightly younger kids and they loved it as well! Best $6.99 I've spent in a while!

i sometimes carry origami papers in my pocket or purse to fold mainly into classic cranes for just the routine of it &/or to place on tips at restaurants or to distract lively kids or thank well-behaved kids at nearby tables. i find some are intrigued & ask for suggestions to get started. this is a great starter suggestion or gift. i find the instructions to be clear & the results to be cute & fun. amazon's product description & pictures & other customer pictures are adequate, so i won't detail further. i will add that "everything needed" & "includes everything you need..." are stated variously, but scissors are required for four of the designs - not included. (incidentally, the use of scissors with activity described as origami is heresy to some ... my feathers remain unruffled)

In my family's neck of the woods, there's a Japanese restaurant that gives children origami paper and has instructions for specific creations on the backside of their menu/placemat. Thankfully, my husband will aid our kids with their folding because I find the more elaborate creations (coupled with confusing instructions) totally frustrating and not at all an "appetizer" to a relaxing meal. This craft is the polar opposite of that restaurant experience! I bought it as part of the airplane entertainment kit I was putting together for my children as we trekked across the country during our summer travels. They both thoroughly enjoyed it (though my littler child, 6 years, did require help with the some creations; however, I was able to follow along much better with lines/guides and such). It was fun for them to embellish their animals with stickers, too. I was excited that they enjoyed their origami sets so much that they even opted to do some after days out sight-seeing and in lieu of hitting iPads or watching TVs. They tucked their completed animals back in the kit for safe-keeping in the hotel rooms and are proud to display them at home.

This set kept my son entertained on 2 flights and during our vacation. He is a very active 5 year old boy, so I wasn't sure if this would be his cup of tea, but he loved folding, following the instructions, adding the stickers and creating a zoo of cute animals.I did show him where to fold, but he did the actual folding himself. The first two levels have just enough steps that he did not get bored or frustrated. It's also a neat package and easy to clean up!I don't write reviews often, but this was an exceptionally nice alternative to the iPad for our long trip!

I got this for my 9 year old daughter after she had fun doing some origami animals at a youth activity. There are pre-colored papers for animals in three levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. She was able to do all the beginner animals easily and was able to figure out the intermediate ones with a little effort. I think she has one or two of the advanced ones that she hasn't completely figured out yet, but I'm sure she'll get it with a little more work. The papers also come with stickers to use as embellishments (a nose for a dog, water spray for a whale, antennae for a snail, etc.) that add another level of cuteness to the finished product. There are lines on the papers and directions in the packet to show how to make each animal, and it's a nice beginning set for children who want to do origami without starting from a blank white sheet of paper. I would definitely get this set again.
