The MELLIF mini circular saw is a tool only item. My self provided 20V dewalt battery fit perfectly and saw powered right up. I cut some 3/4 MDF board and was surprised how powerful this little saw is. These is a small learning curve and i did get some kickback initially until I got the hang on how to hold and use it. The cut quality is really great with minimal kerf. battery life is exceptional. This saw is functional and versatile as it comes with different blades to cut different material. Can't go wrong at $69. Great value.

I really like this saw.I am a huge DeWalt fan but they don't make a light weight 3 1/2 inch mini saw.By light weight, I mean for climbing up a latter and doing ceiling cuts all day.Try that with a 7 1/4!Besides, the standard saw blade is too think. This saw is really lightweight when you use 1 of the small DeWalt 2 Amp hour thin batteries. It has a nice guide, thin blade and tracks very well when you are in really awkward positions using it with one hand.It does not have a lot of torque, but that is not what it is made for, thin precise cuts so take your time and enjoy! One con is the depth setting is a bit cheesy so if you for example are cutting through ceiling plate 5/8ths thick and you don't want to cut the 2x6, be careful and watch your guide because it does tend to want to move. They need to fix that. The guard is spring loaded so you have to press down on the safety then the blade and be pressed into the wood.I honestly think this "Safety feature" is more dangerous especially if you try a one handed cut.It is meant to cut on a table and continued downward pressure to keep the blade at the proper depth.I am going to remove this "Safety Feature"

This saw is for short, simple, lightweight jobs. It does them okay. The laser guide is a nice feature. The vacuum hose attachment is a good feature. It comes with three nice blades. No case. For me however it has a several things I don't like. Most importantly, the base plate cutting depth does not lock in place. If you want to make a cut to depth, there is a plastic snap tab to set the depth you want. After that is done, a spring pushes the base plate down to neutral. When cutting, you have to push and hold down the base plate to the piece. If not, it will spring back to fully down and locked. The trigger release button will release the base plate to be pushed down to depth. I can only assume that is supposed to be a safety feature, but it is a pain. The metal frame is largely what I call "pot metal". The base plate is not adjustable for angle cuts. 90 degrees only. The trigger does not lock on. It is not a defect. It just is that way. The instructions are not very clear and include several poorly copied diagrams. This will do the job, but you may want to look at other models.

The Mellif mini circular saw feels like a well-thought-out tool for light-duty cutting tasks. It’s compact but doesn’t come across as flimsy, and it fits nicely into the kind of workflow I have in my small woodworking shop. I had no trouble using several different DeWalt 20V MAX batteries with it, and all of them worked just fine, which is important since I already rely on that battery platform.Changing blades is simple and familiar if you’ve used circular saws before. The saw has a good balance and didn’t bog down while cutting through thicker wood. It comes with a few accessories — extra blades, an edge guide, and a dust collection hose — though the dust collection wasn’t all that impressive. It caught maybe half of the dust, so I wouldn’t rely on it in a cleaner environment, but for my shop, it’s manageable. What really stood out to me is the base plate design. Most circular saws adjust depth by raising or lowering the shoe. This one works differently — it uses a spring-loaded plunge action where the blade only lowers when you press it into the material. At first, I had to stop and think through how it worked, but once I got the hang of it, I realized it’s actually a clever approach. It forces you to be intentional with each cut, and when you lift the saw away, the blade automatically retracts. That adds a level of safety I haven’t seen in other mini saws.I haven’t put it through months of use yet, so I can’t speak to how it holds up long term, but for now, it’s earned a spot on my bench. It’s light, accurate enough for the kind of projects I do, and a good value — especially if you already have DeWalt batteries on hand.
