I bought this mic for my kids piano practice. The mic looks very unique. I have never seen one look like this. It is expendable, and my little boy thought it somewhat like a transformer. Kids and their teachers found the sound recorded is outstanding. We are surprised by how clear, and directional it sounded, especially compared with what we previously used for recording.
