I just needed something for recording interviews, so at this price, it was worth it. Playback sound quality is particularly bad, like listening through thick flannel, but the voices are clear enough.

This is the second time I have ordered this particular CassetteRecorder for an older friend of mine who is 80 years old so she could record her church services every Sunday. The first cassette recorder was returned because it had a crack below the record button and kept stopping and would not play a complete tape. Then I ordered another cassette recorder, the same one again and it has the same problem. So I just told her to keep it and try to put a piece of tape over the crack to see if that would work, so far she hasn't done that. This was a gift to someone in New Jerseyand I really feel bad because this is the cassette recorder she had and I wanted to get her the same one because she said it lasted a long time and it was small enough for her to hold in one hand and still use her cane or walker. Sorry but I am not pleased with this particular item

because it stopped working after a month...Gave up after many tries to get response...oRDERED ;A DOUBLE CASSETTE RECORDER AS WELL...3 IN FACT AND ALL 3 CASSETTES DON'T WORK. i KEPT ORDERING THINKING THE NEXT ONE WOULD BE OK. Too much trouble and money to return

Sound quality is poor so don't buy it for music ( unless you're deaf ! ) . I bought it for dictation and quick reminders to myself while i'm on the road . For my purposes it's perfect ! The noise from the drive motor is picked up by the built in mike , as would be expected , but when used with an external mike that problem is GONE . Cheap at twice the price !

This little cassette recorder is good for playback purposes only as the recording quality isn't very good and it also plays the tapes a tad too fast. This isn't a major issue for me as it suits the purpose for which it was intended i.e. playing music in the bathroom and at the office. Serious audiophiles will have a problem with this tape recorder, but if you don't set your expectations too high you will find it's quite handy.

I thought I would never be able to find cassete records with a mic jack ever again. Scoured the city and only digital was available. I needed this exact brand as the ones I was using all died from overuse. Finally somewhere I can find what I need even if it is "old school". And, they were shipped right away!Started using them immediately and work like a champ.
