it is good value for the money and easy to use .My favorite knives are the real Japanese knives; but most sold on this site are Chinese made knives claiming to be Japanese. It is a real art to find the real ones. Most good Japanese knives are above $100 price tag; pure stainless knives won't keep the sharpness.

Terrific knife! Not for the amateur, for a few reasons, but if you enjoy working with and honing a sweet tool, you'd definitely be pleased. I ordered three, surprisingly there were inconsistencies and had to exchange one.It was handled so well and easily, I can't tell you. What a marvelous experience. My hat is off to Amazon and Messermeister, they really have it figured out. Quality and customer service in a wonderful package. Thank you. What a pleasure. Order completed and pleased as can be. Need to go put "my edge", on my new tool!

This was quite sharp out of the packaging, retained sharpness through several uses, and I've only had to use a ceramic rod to renew the exceptional sharpness since. We purchase whole ribeyes that were merely deboned and then vacuum wetpacked both at our preferred grocery store as well as one of the large membership warehouse stores, usually in the range of 12-18 pounds, and cut our own ribeye steaks from them, with trimming going to beef tallow which my wife renders. Once our 10 inch breaking knife has done its job, this is used for more precise trimming. Can't be more pleased with it. We've also used it to separate the parts of a large brisket, and this knife made it easy, staying sharp throughout the process.Nothing like a thick home-cut ribeye steak, a ribeye roast, or nice brisket (done in an Instantpot)! We have two different large knife-block sets of knives, and none of them hold sharpness like this (and our 10" breaking knife - different brand). Definite 5-star product all around (including feel and handling).

When I held the knife, immediately I felt uncomfortable remnants of the handle moulding stabbing into my hand. All of this should have been sanded off, but it wasn’t.For a price comparable to Victorinox, this should be a no brainer. This never happens with Victorinox.The blade is very nice. Fix the handle!

How on earth Messermeister managed to release this much quality in a blade at this price point is beyond me. I have a lot of the Messermeister premium steel, including a Meridian Elite 9" chef's knife, so I was weary at first about giving this deal of the day a shot for the price. Well, I am not disappointed. This knife trims perfectly! The blade flexes against the protein, but it seems to just know where I need it to go. I never have to forcefully adjust the guide I've set, it just follows my lead. I was going to get a more premium version of this should this fail to meet my needs, but I'm not springing for the premium price when I feel for 45% less I've already gotten a premium product!5-stars, Messermeister!

One of my best knives. Have at least a dozen and several boning knives but this has become my favorite for years. This is second one purchased but for a coworker who loves it as well
