Can't say enough about the QUALITY, of this tool ! It's performance/durability, is 2nd to none ! I've always been impressed with Metabo tools, while plying my trades, metal fabrication, Pipe fitting/welding ,engineering.

This is the gear reduced model it tops out at 8700 rpm. That being said your not going to stall a carbide burr I prefer this model to the 20,000 plus rpm models for pipe prep using burrs and flap wheels it's much faster because it just keeps turning it also doesn't grab as easy and in metabo fashion is super well built

I love that it has a lock switch and adjustable speed. Also the handle and front rubber cover guard to reduce the head and vibration on your hand.

This is one of those tools that you dont realize you need until you use one. Much faster then a pneumatic die grinder! The spindle is perfect for tight spots and the adjustable speed is really nice for blending.

The planetary gear system allows the grinder to develop more torque, especially at lower speeds...It can handle 3" sanding wheels and discs at 2500 rpm's with negligible loss in rpm...Again, the torque is just amazing...I also prefer the 2500-8700 available rpm's over the usual 10,000-30,000 rpm units...There are many sanding, buffing, grinding jobs that can be done safely at 2500 rpm's that probably wouldn't be advisable to attempt at 10,000, let alone 30,000 rpm's...This unit runs very smooth with almost zero vibration...If there was a complaint it would be the noise of the fan...The fan is very useful at blowing away debris but in turn sounds like a jet engine when running at higher speeds...Depending on the work environment it might not be a problem to anyone else...Bottom line, this Metabo die grinder exudes quality from top to bottom...Buy one and start smiling...kd
