I have a Boerboel (African Mastiff) and needed a snake chain for shows. She is a reverse red brindle and this was exactly what I needed for her. It is strong, lightweight, and looks sleek and high-class on her. I prefer the look of the thinner chains on the big dogs as the larger ones seem to distract from the body structure. This chain doesn't distract the eye from her features while continuing to be a safe & strong collar while we are in the ring. I highly recommend this collar for those interested in shows, or even those who are simply interested in a thinner, less bulky, yet sturdy, long-lasting collar.

I've used this snake chain to show my German Shepherd in the AKC and UKC Conformation ring many times. So far it has held up great. No signs of wear and tear, tarnishing or pinching. My boy is strong and when in the ring pulls ahead hard. Cheaper than going to the "big Brand" vendors for Snake chains but it's the same quality. I'd recommend this and I will likely purchase a few more here soon.

The only reason I took one star off is that our 65 pound dog/puppy (2 years old) has a patch of broken/pulled out hair where the ring typically lays against his neck. So, something in or around the ring is pulling hairs out while we walk. Now, he is a very stubborn puppy, and will pull (he used to be able to get out of a harness easily by simply backing out - his head is smaller than his neck). I have never lost him on a walk since using this, so I love it - it just is not perfect.Our puppy loves this too - he used to run from his harness even though he wanted to go on a walk. Now, when I tell him to "leash up" he actually walks over to me and nudges the choke chain and puts his head through the loop voluntarily - that tells me that he likes it better than the harness.It is super easy to put on and take off, but also allows me to retain control over our puppy.

I bought this for a human with nickel allergies. He wears it all the time & neither the material nor the welds have given him any irritation. It's comfortable & it looks nice too.

I am very pleased with the quality of this collar. It looks nice, it's sturdy, and was comfortable for my Bullmastiff. It slides smoothly and doesn't pinch.Important sizing info! Don't just go by the size of your dogs neck......keep in mind it has to slip over their head. Our Bullmastiff's head is bigger than his neck, and as he grew, it still fit his neck nicely, BUT the day came with I panicked because I didn't think I could get it off him. That was the last day he wore it.....it was scary and I didn't want to hurt him. So the breed of your dog.....the size of his head.....and the size of this neck.....should all be considered when choosing a size. If in doubt....GO BIGGER.Finally thoughts: Would I buy it again? Yes. Would I recommend it? Yes.
