I’ve been using these ball joints for 10 years. Roughly 50 to 60,000 miles on an off-road pretty much anything you can think of for a lifted truck with 37 inch tires. The upper ball joint does not have the ability to put the snap ring on didn’t have the snap ring on it 10 years ago and they still don’t let you put the snap ring on it now on the upper ball joint, also as far as the castle nut on the lower ball joint, you have to get your old ball joint once it’s removed put it in a vise put your new nuts on and off with an impact gun or a wrench. Take that green crap out on the inside. I used a wire brush , so when you look at the top of that nut there are these triangles that is what is locking the nut onto the threads it will not allow it to leave. It’s almost like a locking nut but it’s not the same so you have to work it on and off the threads. Otherwise the lower ball joint is just gonna spin. Even if you put an Allen key in the top and use a wrench you cannot overpower it even when you go to torque the bottom , so those brand new nuts take them on and off with the old ball joint and then go to your new ball joint and it should be able to torque it like I said 50 60,000 miles 10 years 37 inch tires 8 inch lift on a very heavy truck seems pretty good to me. I use Lucas extra heavy duty, green grease, and when you first put that in pump 67 ounces out of the top of that brand new ball joint before you even put it on the truck service thing as a breeze with a 90° angles works well in between the axles for the four-wheel-drive. Being OCD I would definitely say it would be nice if they would extend the upper ball joint for these trucks specifically by about an eighth of an inch so you can put snap rings on both the bottom and the top and if you’re having trouble putting in the lower ball joint with your AutoZone press just use the top ball joint tool in the bottom ball joint tool stacked on top of each other and then you can press on the lower ball joint with ease.

I installed upper and lower Mevotech ball joints on my 01' excursion 2 months ago. I went to get an alignment today and 3 out of 4 are bad enough that the shop wouldn't align the truck. Total waste of time and money. Also... Installation sucked- The green thread lock on the nut sets so quick that the hex head you use to prevent the ball joint from spinning while installing stripps out. I'll add picks after disassembly.

Joint is fully pressed. However part is to short to attach snap ring. Over 1/8 too short. Pressed without a snap ring. Not safe.

Fit just fine on my 2000 super duty. Only thing worth noting is that the circumference of the nut on the top ball joints were slightly too large and landed on the edge of the camber bushing. I just used the old nuts or you could grind these down just a bit and they’d be fine
