They arrive very well packaged and protected. Out of the box they catch a bit when you slide them, but there is no grinding or anything awful. I will be putting precision made silicon nitride balls in, then lubricating with a lithium soap based grease after washing off the rust preventative oils used for shipping. (PTFE lubricants not recommended as it can cause flat spots.)A few tips for linear bearings:stagger the bearing balls by size (2.381mm/2.380mm/2.381mm/2.380mm etc.) as this will give each ball a 0.001mm offset from the center of the contact points. This prevents sliding and instead pushes the next ball slightly higher or lower than it’s direct center. Install all bearing balls on one side, then use the other side to set preload, using 2.379mm/2.380mm balls for lighter preload for instance.Different ball amounts will yield different results. For MGN12H sliders, try 65 and/or 66 balls per side if you’re not getting the movement you’re looking for.Ceramic/silicon balls will polish the metal of the rails over time.If you put them back together and they’re too tight, adjust the rubber end pieces/scrubbers so they’re not pushed up against the rails.
