i LOVE THIS! so clever. such a great idea, not to be redundant. i'm a sewer or used to be a big sewer, i don't have time for it now really & i need a new sewing machine. i had my grandmas, the 1 i learned on, but there was an unfortunate accident that led to it's demise. so, without further ado, let me talk about this. i was NOT aware that there were things like this out in the world. i have a bunch of stuff to sew, as we all probably do. a hole here or there or a seam that opened, so on, but who has time to sew these things? not i! along comes this clever invention. it's a great size for your hand (my hand), it's easy to use, i think it's a great value for your $$, it functions well. i can't speak to the durability thus far, as i've only used it briefly on a few items, so fingers crossed that it lasts & lasts.my ONLY beef/drawback is the picture directions that come w/it. that's why it took me a couple of months almost to use it. the pics & directions are not clear enough, are confusing. it's not clear where the staple things GO on the gun. not at all. in fact, it looks like they go anyplace BUT where they are supposed to. finally, i came online to the listing hoping there were better directions here, indeed there were, thank goodness or i'd still be lost. then i got cranking w/the gun. it's not literally "sewing", it's little plastic staples that hold things together. which is fine w/me. there's more than 1 way to skin a cat, right? is that the saying? what a horrid saying! I LOVE cats & all animals, so no offense to anyone. so, yep it holds cloth together. it wouldn't work well on silk or fine material or anything where u can SEE the staples, unless u don't mind, but almost anything else it's great. :) *i'm gonna remove 1 star because of the lacking of clear directions.

I got this for one job: to close an annoying gap between two curtain panels. Sunlight was coming through the gap between the middle gap in my office curtains, shining directly in my eyes while I worked. I didn't want to take the curtains down and sew them together on my sewing machine, so I figured a tag gun might be just the thing to use. Within a minute of receiving this, the gap in my curtains was closed! Unfortunately, I found this was a bit too fun and quick to use, as the "stitches" go through the gun with a satisfying pop. I began looking around for more to stitch. My shirt had a small tear in it. A few seconds later, the tear was closed up. Same thing with my jacket. The velcro on my rigging belt was loose, so I stitched it. My mind went to nefarious uses for this tool. My bracelets became tangled on my wrist, so I straightened them out and popped a few stitches through the jump rings on the ends, keeping them in place nearly invisibly. My wife, seated in a chair, entirely engrossed in the book she was reading was quickly stitched to her chair! The blankets are now stitched directly to my mattress! The power of this simple tool has gone to my head, it's simple efficiency makes sticking things the needle will go through too easy. It's quick, simple, and very easy to use for quick temporary stitching, making emergency clothing repairs nearly instantaneous. I anticipate a lot of use for this delightful tool, especially for items that may need to be pulled apart again. While using the device, I realized that the stitches could be very handy for tacking difficult to sew materials together in place of traditional pins, eliminating the risk of damaging the pins or needle on my sewing machine. The needles it comes with are sharp, but hesitant to go through heavier materials.Deducting 1 star for the tiny lever for unlocking the needle to change it. During use, I broke one needle (my fault), and the unlocking lever was difficult for me to operate due to its location and small size. If the lever was slightly redesigned, it could be made larger (easier for arthritc hands to use) as well as making the needle slide forward a bit to make it easier to change.
