I had never heard of metal cleaning brushes before, and was both intrigued and nervous to purchase one. If I still had my old dinged up student horn I would be super excited to try this out! It's very cool. The metal straightens to become almost rod-like. Which I assume would useful to put through straight portions of the pipes. The product is also bendy enough to fit around the turns nicely. The brushes seem firm and well made (one little brush fiber fell out on me while I was playing with it).I just got a new trumpet though and I'm afraid the metal will scratch the inside of my horn. You may be thinking, "The inside? Why does it matter if the inside gets scratched?" But the inside is how the sound is made, so I want to treat it right. Also, because of the metal's "snap-straight" quality, I'm nervous that I'll loose control while using it and scratch the outside of my trumpet too. I read another review where the owner put some kind of tape around the metal to protect his horn, but for me it is not worth it.Ultimately I gave this a three star review because I think it would do a marvelous job, but also comes with a few risks.

Very very flexible snake here! The material is nice, i like it better than the plastic vinyl snakes so it does its job pretty well not much to expect from a 4 dollar snake.

I bought this to clean out the drains in my 2006 Mazda MX5. It does a great job clearing out any debris from trees etc.

Might fit a midget trumpet but it's too small to clean my Bach Strad which went through the Nashville Flood.

I have been using one of these metal cleaning snakes to clean my trumpets/cornet/flugelhorn for the past 20 years. The metal cleaning snakes are BY FAR superior to the cheaper plastic snakes. I highly recommend getting this product as it makes cleaning the inside of a trumpet quite easy. The metal is very flexible and easily bends around the insides of the slides. The brushes on each end are durable and last FOR YEARS! You will be shocked to see some of the stuff that will come out of your instrument if you have never cleaned it before! This is definitely a wise investment for maintaining a trumpet.
