This is a really unique yet elegant whiteboard. Mikasa is a great brand and known it my entire life. I wish I had got into their brand stuff earlier in life. Easy to write on and easy to wipe off.

I like the black marble design. It really changes the dynamic of a traditional whiteboard. It works, it just doesn't work that well. The marker is a little thin making it harder to see the writing with clarity. The eraser doesn't work very well, I think it has to do with the coating not being as shiny. This marble "white board" is pretty nice looking and works well.But the one I received has a few minor issues.1. There are a couple of light scratches in the marble surface. Not bad and hard to photograph, so not that big of a deal.2. The outer corners of the frame are not joined perfectly, so they all have a sharp edge when running your fingers along the sides. Again, not easy to see and not dangerous, so not a big deal, at least for me.3. As you can see in the attached picture of mine installed on the front of my stainless steel refrigerator using double sided nano-tape, the included marking pen is all white, not black and white like the one in the picture in the ad. So again, no big deal, but not what was expected.I expected better from Mikasa. I'm also surprised they didn't put the Mikasa logo anywhere visible on the product.But it's solidly put together and functions nicely.I hope this helps. Thanks for reading and liking.

I really have mixed feelings about this message board. I wanted to love it, but... My personal impression is that it looks and feels cheap - not something I expected from Mikasa. I'm still not sure if I'm going to use this as I had planned or not.The message board is an okay quality. It's very lightweight. The decorative marble whiteboard is on an MDF backing with a wood frame. The hangers on the back are firmly attached and because there are several hangers, you can hang this vertically or horizontally. I'm not entirely sure what material the black marble is made of - it almost feels like it's just a glossy print adhered to the MDF backing board. It just feels - and looks - cheap to me.The black marble style is a unique look for a whiteboard and is the reason I was attracted to this board in the first place. I just wish the writing surface were a better quality.The included white dry-erase marker works well and is fairly easy to erase with the eraser at the end of the marker. The marker has a magnet on it, but nothing on the whiteboard is magnetic. Weird.I really like the idea of this message board - but the quality is just okay. This could have been made so much better. I think the $40 price for this is way too high. I would rate this 3.5 stars if I could, but will settle on 3 stars.

This was a cute idea for a white board. It's relatively fragile. It came with a cracked border that we stapled back together, but you can still see the brown wood cracks against the black border. That being said, it has a beautifully black with white marbled surface as the white board material and the marker included is completely white with white ink. The cap to the white marker has a small eraser that works well to erase the white marker from the white board. The white marker glides when writing on the white board surface. The back of the white board looks like regular carboard. There are two hinges on one long and one short side of the unit to allow you to hang it to walls. We attached magnetic strips (not included) to the back and put it on our fridge for a "To-Do" list.

The white board is an attractive and functional addition to my home organization tools. The board has a black frame and four preinstalled picture hangers on the backside. The hangers are sturdy and sufficient for the weight of the board. The white board comes with a white erasable pen with a small sponge on the lid for erasing the board. The white marker ink shows up well, on the board, and is easily erased with the sponge. The sponge is a bit small although very effective.
