Really happy with these new editions of vegetable bowl and 8" pasta/salad bowls (2 sets) to go with my Mikasa TRELLIS Bone China set. I was worried they'd be broken in transit but they were packed well in double boxes. They match perfectly and are comfortable to handle. I bought my TRELLIS dinner ware, including other serving pieces, from a big box store awhile ago and I use this dishes everyday. I really wanted some salad bowls instead of salad plates so I'm very pleased with them. I wash all the pieces in the dishwasher. The only mishaps I've had are chipping a couple of the coffee cups but I have an extra full dinner set still boxed up, yes I plan on using them for years.

Before I learned more about it, I assumed that bone china was very fragile. However, despite its light weight and delicate feel, it’s actually very strong and chip-resistant!This Mikasa serving bowl in the Trellis pattern is a beautiful, classic white color made from bone china. As a result, it’s lightweight (much more so than stoneware or even porcelain pieces) but it is remarkably durable. This particular bowl has a wider, shallower shape than other serving bowls I have in this pattern, which is perfect. It works well for serving many different foods and it looks great, both with my Mikasa dinnerware in the matching Trellis pattern and with other dishes I have in another brand that have a white background. The color and pattern of this bowl are very versatile and would look great with many different dishes. I plan to use this bowl often, as it will coordinate with all of my dishes.

This Mikasa bowl is giving me a French country vibe, I think it's because the trellis design reminds me of gardens, though it can really go with any sort of decor or theme that you have. It's lightweight yet very strong. This is the size we would use for mashed potatoes or rolls at a holiday dinner, or maybe a fruit salad; or a green salad, if not a big crowd. Nice smooth rim all around. Kind of bowl that can be casual or more formal. Versatile and very nice.

This bowl is my new "go to" bowl that I reach for first when I'm serving side dishes. The raised trellis design is lovely, and I don't think it will ever go out of style. One thing I especially like is that it's not a huge bowl, yet it holds a surprising amount. For example, last evening I cut up a personal-size watermelon to serve with dinner, and the bowl was large enough to easily hold all the pieces! I also like that the bowl is lightweight, so it's not too heavy even when it's full. This bowl is also sturdy, goes through the dishwasher well, and I have had no problems with chipping or cracking.Highly recommended!

Using this bowl to serve, whether it is potato chips or a dip for your crudité platter, it will add a bit more elegance to the event. The day this was delivered, I saw the box being delivered to the porch. The box was dropped from about a foot high and I would have been more alarmed if I knew ahead of time that this bowl was what was being delivered. However, when I began to unpack the box, it was so well protected that it could have been tossed from the curb to the porch with no ill effects to the contents. This bowl is so beautiful that I cannot bring myself to store it inside of a cabinet and I have it on display in the living room when not in use. The next time I want to make an impression, I will know exactly where it is. This is definitely attractive enough to have as a decoration, but i plan to put mine to use whenever I get the opportunity.
