This pocket hole bit is WAY better than the one that came with my Masca. The screw does not tighten onto the drill bit but rather to the collar itself. This allows the collar to be placed anywhere on the bit and does not create gouges in the drill bit itself. Will definitely be a life long customer of this product.

I have been using a Kreg tool one of these for quite some time with no issues. I was warned the tips like to break so I purchased a replacement just in case. My other one didn't break but I needed to set the bit for a different size piece of wood so I thought I would get two bits going. First off there are no marking for the wood thickness like on the Kreg tool. I used the Kreg tool bit as a guide and managed to set this one for 3 1/2. Then, drilling the first hole the tip broke off. So much for having two bits set up for different thicknesses. Guess I'll keep using my Kreg tool bit since it works just fine.

Milescraft step bits always seem to last for me longer and not break the first step of the bit as quickly as the other brands (Kr*g, Arm*+r). At this price point buy some extra just to have on hand.
