I've been testing various drills against hard steel on my drill press. My "hard steel" sample is a used Woods mower blade, about 1/4" thick. I previously tested a Milwaukee cobalt bit that had a "pilot point." Neither do the job. They both start out great but are completely dull after about 3/16" of cutting. They both drill mild steel ok. Bits that I found drill through the blade are made by Bosch, Irwin, and Century. Don't waste your money on this bit.
