Very cute mini chocolate fountain that does not take up a lot of counter space. It was a great feature for our gathering/party. The kids love it! You can't melt and prepare the chocolate right in the machine. I found that you need to prep the chocolate on the stove top via a double boiler or straight melting the chocolate in a saucepan. The instruction says to add oil till you get the consistency that allows the auger to work. I found that it required too much oil and definitely became a very unhealthy dessert. So, I experimented with whole milk, and it was great and easy to get the right liquid state. Cleanup can be tricky, and I found pouring hot boiling water over the auger and layered metal piece worked wonders. Thus, cleaning up was much easier. Since it's a mini fountain, storing it back in the box takes up little space. So, this machine is definitely going to be multi-use and not collect dust stored away.

I was looking for a way to bring the chocolate fountain excitement my kids loved at restaurant buffets into our own kitchen, so I got this Mini Chocolate Fountain to serve as a special dessert at home. The compact size seemed perfect for family treats or small gatherings, and I was curious if it could recreate that party atmosphere on a smaller scale.Pros- Compact and doesn’t take up much counter space-ideal for home use or small parties- Super fun for kids and adults, creating a festive dessert experience- Easy to assemble and operate once you understand the process- Cleaning is manageable, with removable parts for easier washing- Works well with a variety of dippables-fruit, marshmallows, pretzels, and more- Affordable way to add a “wow” factor to family nights or birthday partiesCons- Chocolate must be fully melted and thinned with oil before adding to the fountain-the built-in heater is only for keeping chocolate warm, not for melting from solid- Small capacity (around 400g/14oz) is best for families or small groups, not large parties- Fountain tiers are close together, so fruit and treats need to be cut into smaller pieces to fit under the chocolate flow- Can be a bit of a mess to clean, especially if chocolate cools and hardens on the parts- Build quality is basic

First was that this unit is not really designed for heating up the chocolate from room temp. IT does have a heat setting, but its not easy to try and heat around the 3 pegs that stick out of the bottom. I read the directions and it said to preheat the chocolate, but I though I would try heating in this, it did not work very well - the chocolate touching the bottom became hard from over heating. So plan on heating the chocolate in a water bath first. (Boiled water in a bowl with a smaller bowl holding the chocolate.)Second is you need to add oil to the chocolate to get the consistency needed for it to flow. Again tried this in the unit - not ideal. I was surprised that adding oil did not really change the flavor of the chocolate.Also this unit holds 400grams or 14 ounces, so it's small company sized at best, also the distance between the fountain layers is a bit to close for larger fruit. so you need to chop it down (strawberries in 4 type thing).I like that it does not take much space, and its fun, cleaning takes some effort also. If you looking for something for 10+ people this is not likely it, it's prep and work to make the batches and its hard to top up, you can't just drop in some more chocolate pieces.

This mini chocolate fountain is so cute!!!! It's like those retro at home dessert appliances (think mini cotton candy machine or waffle machine). The chocolate capacity seems enough for a smal party of 10. However my only gripe is that the fountain levels are not spread apart far enough so the area where the chocolate falls is barely wide enough for a large marshmallow. I think it will fit but looks close. I'll likely cut things into smaller pieces because giant whole strawberries won't fit all the way into the chocolate curtain. You gotta put the whole strawberry in and not just the tip you know? I was a bit worried at first because I saw a review talking about metal shards?! The metal and plastic is rough around the edges but I checked all the metal welding and nothing sharp protruding.. just burnt welding. Will load pictures of this in action after the party!
