I like the size of this mini skull, and would be similar to a child or infant's skull. The bones, of course, would not be accurate for a child or infant, but it's a nice size to take with you to study anywhere.I dislike how many colors are in play, and is why I am rating this as a two star. The bones on one side of the head are the same as on the other side of the head, but this model makes them different colors which seems to indicate that they are somehow different bones other than left vs right. The coloring because of this just seems superfluous and serves little purpose than to make bones colorful. Otherwise it seems like an accurate model. It is also really hard to take the skull apart and get them to rejoin well together. The cheek bones are going to be lost as they fall off without much difficulty, especially when assembling or disassembling. This would still likely be a useful product for any biology student, but it's important to be aware of the flaws.

This is a great little model and puzzle. I like that it is anatomically correct with all the vascular foramen and notches. The jaw hinge works. The assembly is like a puzzle, even if you loose the instructions just fiddle around with it and you will get it. It has a good weight to it and is high quality plastic, not flimsy at all. All the pieces fit snugly, and there is no fear of it falling apart on its own. This is great for anyone in the medical or anatomical field, I would buy this again.

My youngest is studying health this year, and we are currently focused on the human body. We only had a heart model, as is hard to find other good-quality, reasonably-priced models. Having a multi-colored skull model helps us identify the different parts, especially given the smaller size of the skull. The colors make it easier to read and use the very detailed brochure that came with the skull. The model is also quite sturdy, and should hold up well for our purposes. For larger classroom settings, teachers might want to have one for every two to three students, as larger groups would struggle to see the skull parts and brochure diagrams. The multi-colored skull would otherwise be a very good fit for that setting. I imagine that the colors will make it easier to remember which part is which, too.

Insane cool factor. I drooled over the full-sized versions when I was a PT student. I would have loved to have had one then. But as the saying goes, better late than never. It's 1/2 scale, 15 parts. I prefer the smaller size. Makes it easier to handle and manipulate, just don't lose your pieces! It's about the size of a softball. I can palm it in one hand (but I have big hands). Though, it might make it more challenging to visualize and appreciate some of the finer and minute bony features.I have the didactic version with the color pieces. Makes it easier to locate and identify the larger bony parts and how they all come together. The plastic is thick and durable. I don't see a problem with longevity. However, there are some inconsistencies in the quality control and manufacturing of the plastic (see photos). The paint rubbed off in a few places and onto other pieces as well. I am nit-picking here a tad.It comes fully "installed" (their word choice) or I would describe as fully articulated. But it has a nice little reference card that explains how to put it back together with steps/images (no words). Definitely easier with colored pieces than the all-the-same bone colored. Be mindful when putting it back together, don’t force anything as it has these little “tongue and groove” protrusions and impressions. I could definitely see accidently breaking off one of the protrusions. It also has magnets strategically located to help reassemble and more importantly keep it together. I really like this feature and maybe would have liked to see the use of a few more magnets.I think the reference card needs a touch of work. Their word selection is interesting. It's phrasing is a little off (ie. bullet points 1-3). It doesn't read smoothly, there are better word choices and sentence structure options, and could be written more concisely. (Probably like this review, ha!)There are a couple of confusions. I'm not sure what they mean by "exploded." Maybe they mean disarticulated/articulated? I wouldn't use "pls" in educational material as a substitute for "please" as there isn't an issue with lack of space. I'm not sure what they mean by don't use detergent with "servent." The rest is intelligible despite its less-than-ideal writing. The “Model Part Name” seems to be accurate at a glance, but I did not pull out my anatomy textbook to corroborate. It does not list any of the finer or minute bony features. I did not check to confirm if they were all represented either. Regardless, this would be a great hands-on augment to your study material. Despite the few minor flaws, I would recommend.
