I actually purchased this saddle as part of a Halloween costume for my dog to be a horse with my daughter as a rodeo queen and it was an absolute hit! The saddle is stunning for sure!

Bareback pads can slip, and kids' feet can get caught in stirrups, flinging child under panicked pony. Bareback pads with stirrups are not recommended even for adults, for this reason. If child needs extra balance, adult should walk alongside and hold the child's leg.

It looks really nice. It slides around on his back though so scares the crap out of my kids.Update: My 8 year old can use this just fine. Balance is required. A wider chest and a spine that isn't prominent also helps immensely.
