The steel quality of this product is just terrible. It rusted after the first use. I will return it as soon as possible!

This sandwich maker will allow you to make delicious grilled sandwiches, but your creativity is almost the only limit on what other things you can make with this as well (probably not good for roasting a whole turkey though!). Some easy recipes for the grill are included as well. It seems like a great thing to take on a camping trip. You can cook with it closed (as in making a grilled sandwich) or split it into two small frying pans. I haven’t done it yet (having only made two grilled ham and cheese sandwiches so far), but I’m looking forward to making home-fries (slice potatoes, season them and then cook them in the closed maker).So far I’ve had some problems with cooking my grilled sandwiches. The edges have tended to stick to the pan. I’ve managed this so far by slathering the edges with oil and grilling the sandwiches to a darker shade. I think the issue is the deep sides of the grill (which is an advantage for just about everything else. This is also one Heavy tool! It really is cast iron so it will help in spreading out the heat from your source onto the food.I had some difficulties in assembling the grill. One side screwed into the body of the iron easily. The other side screwed in cleanly for about one-half the distance of the other and then jammed, just spinning in the wood handle as I turned it. I could fully install it by turning the metal rod with a pair of pliers. It all worked out in the end.

It’s well-made and non-stick as it is made of high quality cast iron. The only downside is that its handle is too short for grilling.

This brought back fond memories of my childhood of our family using these every summer when we went camping. I’m super happy to have this to pass that tradition to my kiddo. Two would have been nicer to have but we can make one work until I can order another one.This is made of decent cast iron, has sturdy enough handles and the wood accents are a nice touch. The screw sections are long enough so that the handles feel secure when put on. I had to reverse and forward a bit back and forth to get the handles to screw in all the way but was able to get them in finally all the way. This may get better in time as these are used more and things loosen up some. You don’t want a loose fit either tho, so I’d rather have these take a bit of work to get them screwed in fully.The handles aren’t all that long but you truly don’t need to cook with these immersed deep into rolling flames. A bed of nice hot coals at the edge of your fire works great so the length of these works fine in my opinion. These would also work over a camp stove or even a kitchen stove so again, I feel the handle length is all good. With these being a heavier cast iron, once you add your bread or tortillas then your fillings, these can become even heavier to where too long of handles would make them tricky to hold up over your heat.I’m super pleased with these and as long as they are treated as you would any cast iron, such as keeping them dry and seasoned when not in use, they should last a really long time.The trick to these working most successfully is to preheat them a bit before adding food onto them to prepare to cook. They’ll be hot so be careful of course when adding bread/tortillas and fillings.These include some yummy recipes on card stock however one in particular I had to sort of cringe at the directions. For the hash brown potatoes and eggs- they state to put a layer of hash brown potatoes into one side, then make a well to crack an egg into- then to repeat that on the other plate/side. Then- it says to place the two sides together then cook over your fire. I was picturing trying to actually get these to fold together with the top side's egg not completely running/siding right off lol. Instead just put your hash brown potatoes onto one side in a small layer then make a well. Crack an egg into the well then add another layer of potatoes on top of that. Then place the other irons side onto the top and cook away, flipping occasionally over your fire. ☺️Again, keep these dry after use and keep them seasoned and they’ll last for years.I recommend!

I haven't had a chance to actually cook with these yet, but they are well made. They have a very nice weight to them and feel solid. I don't see anything wrong with them that makes me concerned they won't cook well. The bag is nice to hold it. I'm looking forward to using them on my next camping trip and will update if they fail catastrophically, but for now 5 stars

This works best for a sandwich maker and also on the stove for me, because of the short handles. It’s good cast iron and cooks fine!

This is heavy small item, very unsafe as the lock to put together opens itself unless hold it together with hand and handles are cheaply made very light does not even screw in properly. Just afraid if it falls on the foot as it gets separate. Also received in broken old box.
