Haven't used it yet, but the mechanism is made to too tight a tolerance, making the release spring pointless as it doesn't retract (you have to force it open at the mechanism that compresses the clamp). I think i am going to have to make some mods to make this usable.

I had a hose clamp that was in a very tight and awkward position and after literally spending hours with multiple different pliers trying to get the clamp open I was done. I bought these after looking for a solution and could not have been happier. Got them into position easily and able to open and move the clamp very quickly. A great tool that I would recommend for any hose clamp job you are doing.

Overall it does what it's supposed to but it does not work on 1 inch or maybe 3/4 inch clamps. I tried to use it on the hose clamps for my heater core and it would not squeeze them far enough to do much of anything. Edited part: so I haven't even had this hose clamp tool for a year and it quit working. And it seems as if the cable has become stuck inside of the housing. I use it once, placed it nicely and neatly in a drawer in my toolbox all by itself, and when I pulled it out to use it again the other day it didn't work.

I thought mishimoto was a quality brand that knew enough about radiators and Intercoolers to make a decent set of clamp pliers. I used it twice and it broke. It still worked and I used it a couple more times but as a working mechanic, I should have known to just buy snap on.

They seem like they’re built ok but the description leaves out a key detail. These are not intended for larger radiator hose clamps (47mm or larger). Returned and ended up using channel locks as usual.

I service a 24 vehicle fleet. Unfortunately most of the vehicles are built by Chrysler/dodge. They have an abundance of hard to get to spring clamps. This tool is a serious game changer. Eliminates a lot of stress when trying to get to a spring clamp. I will never go back to trying to get them off with some needle nose pylers.
