This medium size iron works great and is of high quality. I am using it on a wool mat on my sewing table to quickly press my quilting pieces. However, this is a high quality iron that you can use to iron all of you iron needs. It is of a medium size, which makes it more versatile and easy to use. It is pricy, but all quality irons usually are, so it is worth it. -- Oh and I could have bought this directly from Missouri Star Quilt Shop (my favorite :-)) for the same price, but I was able to get it quicker from Amazon..
