not green as pictured also some of the papers inside are dated 2018 but it is new but this made me question the authenticity.the papers and box are all marked made in japan printed no signatures for calibrationi am an engineer so as this needs to be an accurate tool i will be using on a gearbox rebuild so very expensive/dangerous if things go wrong due to wrong measurements.thus i tested the measurements at various points along the length of the screw and it does read accurately within a tenth or so but temp can effect that so it is a good micrometer weather it is genuine mitutoyo i could not say as in 30yrs i have only seen silver antique,2 shades of green or blue and the last review says his turned up tan brown.i bought from amazon as all the mitutoyo distributors available to me say this model is out of stock and i did not have time to wait price was the same here as from mitutoyo suppliers and amazon do say they will only sell genuine items. either way it is good quality well made and reads accurately so i am happy with it.

The color of the enamel finish is actually light tan, not green as pictured. No matter. The mic is extremely smooth, the engraved markings very crisp, and the ratchet stop is great for repeatable pressure. The zero is perfect. Confirming that this is a made in Japan instrument, not China. Worth the money if looking for accuracy and quality.
